She continued to bolster her comrades' defenses as the enemy ranks began to reform following the Dragon's devastating flame attack. "That was amazing, but we do not have long." She nodded towards Kassenko's forces.

Suddenly, Isawa Miwako was standing there. She scanned the battlefield quickly, trying to assess the situation and watching for signs that the strike force had been victorious.

There were none. Nothing was burning. Not how it should be.

She unfurled a scroll and let the fire kami follow her outrage. Two bolts of white fire struck slaughter spirits on the field, leaving them to writhe in pain.

"Heresy."

A volley of enemy arrows targeted her in retaliation, but she was gone.

An arrow catches him in the left shoulder (10 damage), fired no doubt by one of the Steel Chrysanthemum's thugs who wanted to sow a little chaos by eliminating the magistrate. To his credit, Tameaki hardly seems to notice, continuing to go door-to-door, pulling people out and rushing them toward whatever might pass for safety.

Sukima worked in coordination with Tameaki, covering the blocks leading up to and near the walls the he didn't, and organizing some relief where she could. She suppressed a wince as an arrow buried itself in her thigh as she faced away, pointing a group of people to safety.

But the laugh soon took the backseat to a serious expression. Yes, they didn't have long.

She saw a group head out, to strike at the enemy command.

Touki laughed. "Okay. Magic. Fine."

Seeing her serious expression, he turned, following her gaze, his own expression turning grim. "A bold move. May..." His jaw set, then relaxed. "May the Fortunes be with them." His expression was strange as he said the phrase.

Her gaze was drawn to Kashiwagi and Megumi. She did not know the others. Still there was a battle going on all around them so she could not spare the time to devote all of her attention to that fight.

She stopped a few spirits from reaching her companions. Where was the massive explosion of flame? Surely the Heavens would be acceding to the Inquisitor's requests anytime now...

Kodama spared only a little while for looking out at the daring maneuver. Others were trying to turn aside the yari of a charge of those from Toshigoku.

The other samurai and the monk in the area have drawn Tameaki's attention.

"You too, go!" he calls out. "There's nothing more we can do here, and we'll need everyone if we're to hope to hold our ground tomorrow!"

Wasako held on to her straw hat and cringed when she saw the blatant show of fire in the heavy rain. Fire was something to be fearful about, regardless of where it came from. Thankfully, there weren't too many buildings of importance around.

She turned her attention behind her, wondering if that was a call for a retreat. Were they not pushing back the tide or were their attempts only delaying the inevitable?
