He holds up his hand, splaying the finger's out. "We're diminishing ourselves and each other when we do that. You cannot help someone up, nor deliver a proper blow when the Left and Right hands do as so." He brings his fingers together, "Where as when brought together you can."

"Forgive my lack of understanding..." Touki frowned, "but do you think the wider problem is caused by individual disharmonies, or the individual disharmonies are caused by the greater?"

His frown deepened. "If it even works that way at all. I have heard that it does."

Touki grimaced. "Is there anything that can be done? Or..." he frowned, "is it like a child's toy, set to spinning. Once it begins to wobble, it will inevitably wobble more and more, and attempting to write it will just make it fall?"

"To my knowledge, all of our clan that were in the city escaped, but it was a fair sized city, and I would not claim to have known them all. There were refugees coming from the assault in the Imperial Winter Court, plus those of us that wintered over in Toshi no Omoidoso. Many were there. But I think I have seen all I met there on the road to here."

Now that was a name every Phoenix had heard of . . . and most of the rest of the Empire as well. Left him quite . . . speechless . . . to find that Kashiwagi was here. Well at least they'd have firm leadership.

Ayanojo couldn't imagine what being at the front lines of a war would be like. He'd been told enough of the conflicts of the past and the latest one with the Lion had happened while he was a child, but he knew enough to know he had no place in one.

It was a grim look he gave in the direction of Omoidoso.
