Just samurai? That's a relief. Maiya turned to Amaya and smiled as she placed her hands atop her lap.

"Nothing we can't handle, ne Ama-chan?"

The younger Crab gives a quick nod. "We should be able to, if they don't get reinforcements."

"Nn." Making a noise of agreement she relaxed back against the rim of the bath. "This is nice." Evidently her enemy questions were over.

Half-smiling, Touki gave the two Kaiu a nod. "That is a good attitude, Kaiu-samas." He said, inclining his head. "With samurai like you added to the strength of the Lion forces, I think we will do fine."

As Miwako held out the bottle, Touki held out his cup for a refill automatically; he looked down at his refilled cup with mild surprise. Shrugging, he drank, then sat back, clearly growing more relaxed. "I'd rather not see any ancestors, though." He said. "I think I saw one of my wife's. That's why it looked so much like her." Touki's gaze went distant.

"Spirits are often not what they seem, Akodo-sama." Miwako assured him. "Each realm is vastly different from ours, as their denizens are from us."

This got Maiya thinking. She knew about the realm of evil, Chikushudo, Toshigoku and Tengoku. Were there others?

"How many spirit realms are there?"

"Nine." Comes the quiet reply from Maiyu's side. "

Touki had been grimacing and counting on his fingers. He stopped when Amaya gave her answer.

"That sounds right." He agreed. "Although I confess I don't think I could name them all." Another grimace. "Clearly, they're not meant to be here, or at least not the ones from Toshigoku."

"You've studied this Amaya-san? That's impressive. What are they?" Maiya was proud of her cousin.

The number was easy. Naming them all off the top of her head after not having used them for such a long while is not so easy, but she makes the attempt.

"Yume-do. Meigo. Chikushudo. Toshigoku. Jigoku. Sakkaku."

The young Crab begins to falter and has to actually think hard at this point.

"Tengoku. Hm ... Gaki-do."

After a moment of pondering, one more follows.

"Yomi."

"I've heard of Sakkaku... and Yomi. Hmm. Yume-do... and Gaki-do?" She asks, showing interest in her cousin's knowledge.

"Did you read about this from a scroll?"

Amaya shakes her head in the negative.

Realising that her cousin probably expects a more informative response, she adds after a moment. "That Kuni Witch Hunter taught me."

Likely referring to that three week period over half a year ago, where their Squadron was sent out to help a Witch Hunter ferret out a group of Lost. The one that involved watching the crusty old guy stare creepily at people a lot.

Touki glanced curiously back and forth between the two of them. "Kuni Witch Hunter?" He said, his tone gently encouraging. It sounded like there was a story there.

Leaning back and simply enjoying the bath and the sake, Miwako spoke up again.

"Tengoku, the Celestial Heavens."

"Yomi, home to our blessed ancestors."

"Meido, the Realm of Waiting."

"Ningen-do, our realm."

"Chikushudo, the Realm of Animals."

"Sakkaku, the Realm of Tricksters."

"Toshigoku.the Realm of Slaughter."

"Gaki-do, the Realm of the Hungry Dead."

"And, Jigoku; Realm of Evil."

Touki looked blankly at Amaya for a few seconds, and then glanced curiously at Maiya. Perhaps the more talkative one would elaborate.

He cleared his throat, glancing briefly at Miwako, and then away. "Do we know what they are like? Yomi and Meido, for instance?" He took another sip, still not quite looking at anyone.

"Yomi is bright and warm." she smiled. "You feel like you are home. Meido is gray and covered in mist. You feel nothing. Perhaps uncertainty."

"And Yume-Do?" She asks, having not forgotten the one her cousin named first. Why was that?

Noticing the Lion and her cousin staring at her she slowly crosses her arms. "Do you really want to hear about a creepy old Kuni Witch Hunter while bathing Akodo-sama? I could tell you, but you may feel the need to wash all over again." She looked up without smiling. "Iie, I am not exaggerating. He was very peculiar." Then she does smile a bit. "Most Kuni are, but he took the anko."
