"Are we cursed to have an emperor die so soon after taking a Lion bride?" The former Phoenix puts her hands on her temples to think harder. "Food, water...spies? I can help with these things. Which emperor is this? Hantei XVI? I don't know much about him off hand."

I need to visit the library, she thinks squeezing her temples hard. "Ok, ok. We need a game plan. Has Shizuma-sama said what must be done?"

"Shizuma-sama must be consulted as soon as possible. He will need accurate information. I will go to the library and look into the histories. Then...divining might work. At least it would give us more than guessing." She starts counting off the options in her head. At least now her hands are off her temples.

"I need to speak to the Phoenix. They have the most complete histories, not that the Ikoma's aren't very impressive." She is quick to add with a side look at her husband.
