"They are a bridge to the higher powers, think of it of giving a message to someone to give to their lord," says Kayou. "The Oracle are that bridge for specific types of powerful lords."

Iko emerged from her alcove nursing her wrist, all that writing had put undue strain upon it and she needed a break.

With a smile, she headed over to Kayou and her students, joining the group at the nun's feet. She was definitely becoming quite the inspiring leader it seemed.

Kayou bowed to the Dragon. "Welcome, Togashi-san. We were just discussing the Dragons. Perhaps, given your Clan's close association with the dragons, you maight be able the answer the question of these fine budoka, do we pray to the dragons?"

Iko ponders for a moment as she decides upon an answer.

"We venerate them as members of the Celestial cosmology, but direct prayer is uncommon in normal circumstances. In a shrine such as this however, that specifically caters to them and their agents, here it seems very right. I myself have offered prayers to the Void Dragon for the last few days."

"But prayer is a very personal thing, let no one tell you where your faith should lie. Even the Brotherhood has sects of Fortunists and Taoists, isn't that true Kayou-sensei?"

Mogami gives Tsukimi a bow and the two budoka follow suit. After hearing her answer, Mogami introduces herself.

"Good morning, I am Matsu Mogami"

The budoka who was asking questions nods at the answer and then goes quiet for a few moments.

"Prayers to the Kami, prayers to the fortunes, prayers to the oracles, prayers to the Dragons, prayers to our ancestors....That is a lot of praying."

Kayou smiles at the man's comment. "There is no dishonor is asking for aid or thanking those that have helped you," says Kayou. "You offer prayers when you feel it is appropriate or when it is polite to do so. Some are more dutiful about such than other but it need not be constant just as needed."

"As Togashi-san says, it is what feel right to you," she adds. "Though it never hurts to be polite and follow the lead of your superiors in such matters."

Mogami turns back to her Budoka

"Do either of you have any more questions for today? Remember we don't have to cover it all in one sitting. We will have many lessons over time. Take in too much at once and you may forget."

The men both are silent for a time until one says simply,

"No, -sama"

Mogami gives them a nod and then looks back to the group.

"What brings you here, Togashi-sama?"

"The wings of fate?" She replies with a quirky smile. "Or I suppose more mundanely, my feet, specifically from the Court of Morikage Toshi."

"I don't recall seeing you there Matsu-san. Are you local to Toshi no Omoidoso?"

"I am stationed here, but my family home was Morikage Toshi, and I had returned there for the Winter Court to demonstrate kyujutsu as the top student of my school in the past century. I never did get to see the court however."

Nodding along Iko shrugs slightly. "Ah, most of our dealings with the Lion were led by Agasha Poemu-sama. As a former Kakita, itvwas thought I should focus on negotiations in that arena."

"I am glad to see your team managed to make it out safely Matsu-san."

"It was quite something... Luckily me and my two budoka were preparing some traveling kits to do a few days excursion out into the wilds while we waited for my day to present. Had all of our marching gear ready to go. The heavens sure work in mysterious ways, no?"

Chihaya nodded. "It sometimes feels the sea will never quiet, but it will, perhaps not today, or even tomorrow... but some day there will be a moment of respite - after all, no thing lasts forever."

"They certainly do Matsu-san, they certainly do." Iko offers a bow to the Matsu, and a shallow one to his budoka, before turning and offering an equally deep, (if slightly longer held) bow to Kayou.

"But if you will all excuse me, this temple has gotten a little busy for my personal liking. Until the Fortunes next cross our paths, minna-sama."

Iko waits politely for any last words before she
/exits.
