Nodding, Tsukimi made a mental note to herself to remember this. It was similar to other teachings she had heard, from monks of the Brotherhood as well as monks of the Togashi.

The monk smiles at that, with a hint of mischief in it. "Is this why you have such difficulty asking questions? You're not such if the obstacle before you is a mountain or merely a painting of one?"

She smiled in return, kind of like a child that had been caught with their hand in the cookie-jar. "I never claimed to be wise. Though one certainly aspires to be."

"I can make new ones for you if we spend some time at it, I have a skill with fletching. Additionally, for training we have plenty to use. My drills are to teach my men to use a bow and how to attack when faced against a samurai. I admit, I am not a god instructor for the second skill, I was never formally trained with a Yari."

"Do you think the lessons would be better before or after the physical training?"

"Thank you... I don't know if I can say that my goals and motivations are completely selfless, however, as I consider each step of my journey a step closer to understanding and enlightenment." Still, she smiled warmly at the praise.

She frowns.

"I realized something today. I am the only of my direct family left. I had hope my father and mother would have made it out of Morikage Toshi as I did, but the General would have had himself and mother here by now if they lived."

Her eyes sparkled just a little. No tears formed, but there was something there struggling to be allowed out.

"Would you honor their memory when the battle begins by fighting next to me?"
