The dragon unwraps itself from around you, and the rain comes down heavier. It feels cleansing and warm.

"So you wish to be a conduit that strengthens the elements to bring balance."

"Yes." she nodded. "I wish to heal whatever damage I can."

The rain stops a moment later and the dragon settles in front of her.

"But there will be a balance."

"May I know the price?" she asked. It was easier to say yes without knowing, but knowledge was always better than ignorance.

The dragon moves with incredible speed, hitting you with its tail so hard that you are literally forced out of Tengoku, though there is no pain.

...and you're back at the temple.

She opened her eyes and slowly looked around. Gathering her senses, she offered the dragons another prayer of thanks before standing

"Somgai!" Ignoring who else might be in the temple, she reached out and hugged him. "I... I'm not sure..."

He hugs back. Hugging in public never bothered him.

"You have returned, and that is enough for now." He leans away from her. "You look fine, perhaps, even... lighter of spirit?" He peers closely. "Something has changed you, though I believe Tengoku is supposed to purify, in some way."

He smiles. "I'm so glad you're back."

"My request was accepted, at a price." she explained. "I'm not sure what I've gained or lost. Not yet."

Somgai's smile decreases in size, but it gains a sort of weight to it that it didn't have before.

"There is always a price. It is the nature of things. I think those who do the most are those who worry least about the price and most about the gain.

"And there is much to be gained, here. So many are in pain."

Elsewhere in the temple there was a lone lotus flower sitting with her eyes open looking off into the infinite...

The reports from the previous day were not any more encouraging after a night’s rest. There was a weight on Ren that dampened some of her normal effervescence. She sat pondering the best course of action... and sought to hear the echoes of the her path as it collided with the conditions around her.
