As they get closer to the kappa, Nagiko can see them more clearly (see picture).

She sees Asahime watching her, and she begins to get a very strong sense of unease.

Nagiko starts to wiggle her back and butt, much like a cat would do in such a situation, preparing to strike...

But she doesn't know how to. Attacking a kappa is not the way to do it, she thinks. At least not the way a bakeneko would do so.

Words and Trickery? She heard about the rumours about them in Ningen-do. But those are ningen way to do things.

For a moment she waits to see what to do...

The fact that there was one kappa, in the open, there, vulnerable, in the middle of the realm of mischief seems odd. Or rather, the perfect situation for the hunter to become prey, just as she said before.

There must be more of them. They are trying to spring a trap.

Nagiko looks at Asahime, trying to communicate that there is more than the eye can tell here. There must be a trick.

'' Meo!... '' She screamed as the paw hit her.

Nagiko look confused...at first. Why was Hime-chan attacking her? Did she did something wrong?

She could not understand...

but then she remembers what Sakkaku is all about. Asahime tricked her into coming here in the first place.

Then she hisses towards Asahime. She can play this game as well!

'' MEOW!!!'' She yells very loudly.

'' ~true, kappa are drawn to blood. Hime-chan. But that doesn't mean that they know it is mine!~''

Then she closes her eyes. Trying to end her adventure during this night.

A few moments later, Nagiko hears Asahime's voice. "Don't be mad, kitten. It's all part of the fun."

Nagiko gets the sense that Asahime may have already left the room by the time she finished speaking.

Nagiko's body still in seiza and without moving suddenly twitches violently and she released a deep gasp, as her soul returns into its body...

Sweat was covering her body, and the pain, the pain from the paw strike...

It took a while for her to recover her breath, all while feeling the pain that was coming from her soul itself.

'' Tch '' She stood up after some minutes. '' Bad neko, the fun was just beggining and you had to stop it like that.'' She said to herself, but probably Asahime would had catch it as well.

'' Whatever. Just look at me. I will become the cat.''
