"I have actually been here over the winter. Mostly in or near the Temple. My health has been like this for just under two years now. You have perhaps heard of the Shrine to Reichin, Fortune of Heroes? I was involved in raising it, and my health was the payment to bring so much purity forth."

"We must have missed one another then... I have been convalescing here the last few weeks, but under a more intensive care. I had not heard the tale of this shrine, however, I fear this last year and a half, I have been much pre-occupied."

Chihaya quirked her head, curiously.

"What made it so difficult to construct?"

"After a month of ritual and communing with the kami of Earth, they offered forth a pure jade pillar, triangular in shape, some 20 or so feet tall."

"I hope it isn't in Crab lands, lest they mine it for their armies... where is the temple?"

"I can think of few more deserving. I have only respect for the Hare - they are a very honorable people. One wishes them success in the coming years."

Guilty memories tried to surface, and were aggressively thrust back into the dark recesses of the past.

Tsukimi's hand folded together, keeping her string of prayer beads between her palms and laced between her fingers. "Such a miracle, Isawa-sama. I've never heard of such a feat accomplished before... to think it could be possible for shugenja to call forth jade in such a manner."

"The Heavens will surely see such a mark upon your kharma."

With a faint smile, Chihaya added, "If nothing else, you have a friend in the minor clans for such a deed."

Raising her teacup she offered a small, casual toast, and then took a sip.

"Possible, yes. It took a month or so, perhaps longer - I lost track of time near the end. And it took a heavy cost from me. And the Earth kami had to be in perfect agreement. Not something easy, or able to cancel the current shortage, I fear."

"Still, an achievement fitting for the Kami of Heroes, Isawa-sama," says Kayou. "This one shall add it to the places she wishes to visit on pilgrimage."

"I should hope none would consider such a gift from the heavens in such a... mercenary fashion as to demand it be repeated time and again."

She shrugged.

"Not that I can truly claim to know the secrets of such things."

At the offer, she held forth her own cup, with a nod.

"Isawa-sama, is such a ritual something that could be repeated, in a similar fashion? There is the matter of Kyuden Asako and the rift between worlds there... perhaps something similar could be of aid in that situation?"

"That... I do not even know how to begin to close such a rift. What I did was limited not just to Ningen-do, but to one element of it. I have no experience with the matter you ask of, and no idea where to even begin studying to do so. My apologies."
