Maiya spluttered and then giggled as she set her feet down, giving Horonigai a splash back. "I didn't think of that. Gomen Seppun-sama." She brushed a hand through her wet hair as her vision took in the Imperial. She nibbled her lower lip as she glanced away.

"Ano, your turn to suggest something then, ne?"

“Oh! Oh!” She squeals, reminding herself of a good game. “Let’s play the Imperial Staredown.”

Horonigai lifts a finger up to explain the rules. “We look at each other trying to intimidate or appear nonchalant. The first one that looks away, loses. What do you say?”

"Ano..." She looked back to Horonigai and did a double take. She wants me to stare?!

"W-well, okay." Maiya wasn't the type to pass up a free meal. While this wasn't edible, it was palatable.

"We can just look at each other, ne?"

“Aim for the eyes!” She exclaims, and intensifies her semi narrowed green eyes of passive-aggressive judgmental disapproval.

"The eyes?" She asks, immediately thinking that was less fun. Still, she did her best to oblige as she stood up straight to stare down Horonigai.

The match actually lasted a full minute with neither side giving in. However, it inevitably ended when Maiya's blush became too great after glancing down at the Seppun's body one too many times. Feeling utterly embarrassed, among other things, she turned away.

"It's your win Seppun-sama..."

“Yosh!” She jumps at the pool, bouncing some water splashes around. “Ja, we are at a draw, ne! Last game: your pick. What’s the challenge?”

"We can do best of five. Hmm..." Maiya turned back to Horonigai and smiled. She stepped in closer. "Please call me Maiya, Seppun-sama. Ano, if you do not mind."

She dipped her head politely. While she was still blushing and the Imperial was still awfully distracting, she was having a lot of fun.

"How about... finger wrestling? You know, the one you maybe did as a kid?" She demonstrated locking her hands together and bending them this way and that. "First to make the other say give up?"

“Un! I know that one!” The Seppun extends her arms and opens her hand to fetch Maiya’s and begin the finger fight. “No dirty moves Maiya-chan!”

"I'll win fair and square!" Maiya retorts, taking Horonigai's other hand in hers so each of their hands was engaged. She closed the gap immediately, launching their hands down and twisting her knuckles to try getting the early advantage. This usually worked!

Maiya kept in close with Horonigai, not letting her get distance and thereby preventing her from making this a contest of strength. At least not without breaking the rules.

“Ack!” She whimpers, being held too close to Maiya and unable to swing up and get some extra space between them.

“Those grabby Crab claws. Stop it. Nuuuuuu!” The Imperial glares her eyes at the Kaiu. “You won! But that’s not how we play at Otosan Uchi!”

“Next game! My call.” She hastily moves out of the pool, rolling, and fetches her towel. With a twist, she makes a whip out of it, and announces, enthusiastically, “Ha! Taorujutsu! First one to get three slaps, loses!”

You're all just wimps at Otosan Uchi. She thinks.

Maiya flashed a victory finger sign after the Imperial declared her the winner. She was smiling and enjoying her success.

Then Horonigai was getting out of the water and fetching a towel? Maiya watched this time, less embarrassed than before, as she was treated to further eye candy. The Imperial princess liked attention she decided so she was only giving her what she wanted.

"Ok. We can do that. However, whoever loses overall has to do a dare the winner chooses. Something harmless of course, me? You would only tie with me if you do win this round. Are you up for the challenge? Do you dare?" Maiya voices in a way to goad the Seppun as she gets out of the water and walks over casually to her towel. She picks it up and straightens it, curling it slightly. "I will even let you choose between the last round options of enduring tickling or holding our breath. You're not chicken, right?" Both were games of stamina and willpower she knew she would have an edge in...

“Ehhh...” She chuckles, amused and adds up, “You said best of five before and now you want to turn things around. Getting all serious because you have the advantage. Quite opportunistic, neh!”

Horonigai shakes her head. “Iie. If you want the loser to do a dare, let’s get really serious.”

She squints her eyes. “Jujutsu.”

"If it wasn't best of five I'd already have won Seppun-sama. This isn't a dojo so..." She lowers her towel and starts folding it. "We've been playful enough. A towel fight is one thing, but jiujitsu in a bath house? It's cold outside the water so isn't worth it. I'm going back in."

Placing her towel atop her head she slips back into the water.

Horonigai tilts her head at the sudden change of humor coming from Maiya and chuckles. "Fair enough. You went over board with your dare suggestion. I understand if you would want to yield at this point."

The Seppun smiles and wraps the towel around. With a bow, she gives the Kaiu farewell. "Enjoy the bath, Kaiu-san. May the kami light your path. I should get going as duty requires me to ready up for tomorrow."

Bkaaark. "As you say Seppun-sama. Sorry about that." Bkaaaaaark bkark bkark!

She dips her head toward the Imperial when it was obvious she was leaving. "Have a nice evening Seppun-sama. See you."

Maiya relaxed in the water for a good while more before heading back to her room.
