"I'm going to miss you."

Maiya gushed to the bath as she stepped into its wonderful warm waters.

"Bliss~"

She sunk in past her shoulders where she sat down. Everything suddenly felt better. I'd love to open a bath house.

Since it was an indoor place, there was no sound of her geta clacking against stone. Instead, Horonigai taps her toes against the cold wooden floor in a hurry while widely exclaiming the nearly freezing situation outside the pool.

"Tsuuuumetaaaai!"

The Imperial manages to sneak into the bath as fast as she could sheath back the katana after a iai strike. The girl shivers a bit was heat starts to build in, then she sighs, saying, "Atatakai, neh..."

In a proper environment to pay her respects, she widens her eyes a bit in pleasant surprise noticing that Maiya was sharing the pool with her, and bows. "Konbanwa, Kaiu-san. Yoroshiku onegaishimaasu. I hope Inari-kami has been kind."

"Ano, hai, Seppun-sama." The Kaiu responds in a hurry, half standing to give a quick bow to the other woman. This was rapidly followed up by dropping back down into the water.

"H-how are you Seppun-sama?" She asks, hoping the woman was in good spirits today.

"I'm better! Thank you." She leans back at the edge of the pool and raises her feet up, allowing toes to appear slightly above the water. "Getting ready for an early departure. What about you?"

"Either heading home or joining the group meeting up with the Legions to put this thread down for good. Not sure which yet."

Maiya kept her gaze on the waterline. However, that meant she noticed Horonigai's toes. She blushed faintly and leans back herself.

"I-is that nice?" She goes on to ask quietly.

Horonigai giggles. "Ne, I'm just being silly. Stretching my legs a bit while controlling the rest of the body to be underwater but my toes. Kinda difficult to do for long."

Maiya slowly shifted until she could give it a go herself.

"Wh-what?" She almost slips as the words, especially the last one, catches her by surprise. She quickly lowers her legs as her blush returns.

"Ano, excuse me Seppun-sama...?"

Horonigai stretches her legs even further, and narrows her eyes trying while using all her strength to concentrate body parts to maintain themselves under the water surface, and toes up. She exhales, saying, "Ungh... see... like this."

"Like... this?" Maiya still wasn't quite sure what Horonigai had meant. Not getting it she decided to scoot closer. She shifts about along the bath's edge to sit a foot away from the Imperial so she could better figure out what she was up to.

It was still kind of embarrassing. She's actually a little childish. It's kind of cute though. At least she's not scary anymore. I doubt she'd order my head chopped off.

Maiya observed and nodded as she realised what the trick was.

"Keep all the body except the head under the water, ne?"

She turned and tried her best to copy what Horonigai was doing.

Noticing Miaya was actually trying to copy her, Horonigai quickly shifts to observe how the Crab would do it. With a nod, she compliments the Kaiu. "Un! Quite perfect, Kaiu-san. Jouzu ne!"

She sighs. "Good to have some time to relax the body and mind, thinking on simples challenges, ne. Now, your turn."

"Okay... nngh... it takes some concentration, ne?"

A couple of times her upper half had peeked out of the water, but she'd been able to get it in the end.

Sitting back up and proper she studied the Imperial. "You mean a simple challenge Seppun-sama?"

"Un!" She says positively, "I mean," Horonigai looks around, "I know we should behave in a public bath and all, neh... but, I don't think anyone is coming, so: I'm game. What's the challenge?"

"And we're celebrating the end of a siege, ne?" Maiya voices back with a beaming smile.

"Okay, ano, so..." She tried to remember things she did as a kid. "Most games among my Clan are physical. Wrestling, arm wrestling, holding your breath. Hmm. How about trying to float?"

Horonigai puts the towel at her head on the dry area and smirks, counting to begin, "San, ni, ichi. Hajime!"

At the countdown, she shifts up and spreads arms and legs over the water fo maintain herself afloat. She also inhales a lot of air to help out.

"Go!" She joins in, feeling a surge of excitement.

Sucking in air and pushing herself up to the water's surface, Maiya was soon floating there serenely. She clearly had done this many times before.

"Nice and relaxing, ne?"

Horonigai obviously lost, as Miaya keeps floating around for a while longer. Sore loser, the Seppun playfully splashes some water at the victorious samurai-ko, to importune her while floating. "Not fair. The Crab is a water animal. Of course you would know hoe to float around."
