Erina adjusts her belongings and waits in the foyer. She had received a great deal of help from one person in particular, and to be honest, it was a conversation that she had enjoyed more than any for a long time.

"Yogo Sukima..." It seemed that things would remain interesting for a while, and the Scorpion courtier seemed to know how things got done.

She's soon escorted into a meeting room inside the embassy, small enough to be cozy but not so small that it's cramped, with a view into the garden beyond through a partially open shoji screen. Sukima rose when she arrived and bowed with a smile. "Matsu-san. It's truly a pleasure to see you again. Please join me." She gestured to the other seat.

"Likewise Sukima-sama. Though I do fear that you have but my rushed accomodations thoroughly to shame." Erina smiles and returns the bow before she takes a seat.

"Well, I can honestly say that things have become much better since I last saw you. In addition, you have my great thanks for your assistance with the last known location of the Crane Champion...I don't think that the Crane know it was you who provided the information. It certainly wasn't me."

Erina gives the smile of a hungry cat. "I liked them wondering where a Lion picked up a new trick."

She joined her at the table, pouring both of them a cup of tea. Her smile was genuinely warm at the comment about the Crane Champion. "The sparse information I was able to find helped, then? I'm so pleased to hear that."

She gave a low chuckle at the Crane wondering where they'd acquired their trick. "It's always nice to be able to leave the Crane at a loss."

"I don't know if they found him yet." Erina admits, placing a finger on her cheek thoughtfully. "But it was enough to ruffle the Crane's feather and put them in flight, if you can forgive the expression. They have the help of Kitsu-diamyo and Touki-san as well, so Lion is well represented for offering plenty of help as well. None can say that we gave anything less than our full effort in the process."

Erina keeps the thoughtful expression. "Because of that, I chose not to bring up the other idea to the Diamyo...I think she is preoccupied anyway. Hopefully, I have another chance soon."

"Even if they don't find him, it is as you say - no one can look at the effort and say the Lion did less than... well, their share, if you take my meaning," she replied with a small smirk. "Between providing the information and some of the rescue team. It's almost a shame to the Crane, though it's not one they can complain about and look reasonable. We've essentially gotten them coming and going with this."

"There will be time for that," she said with a nod. Then she sighed. "I hope we can continue working together."

Erina continues to smile. "I hope so as well. While I can only guess at what the future holds, I am increasingly sure that we are not going to be seeing a return to the court of Hantei XVI. That said, I have to think that it's only the beginning."

The smile begins to fade. "The Empress, if she managed to triumph, will still be new in her authority. I won't be shocked if there are strikes at her base...subtler, more reasonable looking strikes."

"And if you need help with those, please call on me. I will do what I can."

"I agree on that front. If what we saw here reflects the stances of the larger Empire, and with the variety of Clans represented here, that seems likely, most will support the Empress strongly. I am very glad for that... Even if we were not able to do so these last days," she said with a small frown, followed by a sip of tea. "What I wonder most is whether the Clan will have to continue that stance... I don't think such a choice is wise given the widespread support mentioned."

She smiled at the Lion's offer and nodded. "I may need it in the coming months. I deeply appreciate your offer."
