He brushed water over his shoulders enjoying the heat over his skin and then splashed his face with some water before he ran his fingers through his hair and began cleaning it. Satisfied with that he continued with scrubbing his face down once more before relaxing once more and feeling much cleaner in the process.

Mai nodded in assent to the statement and then looked about those gathered. Uncertainty nipped at her thoughts for a moment but she swallowed it down with some effort. As the others relaxed made themselves comfortable she turned her attention back to the tattoo, reading the images and lines anew as if they would deliver her some greater understanding.

He moves his own tattoo where she can look at it more closely, if she cares to.

"And what do you read in mine, if I may be so bold as to ask?"

Mai quirked an eyebrow, but was driven by curiosity and assented to the offered course. Sliding closer she would take a more detailed look at the tattoo that she might take a stab at deciphering the meaning placed in the symbols of another artisan.

Cleaned up, he rose and nodded to those present and got cleaned, dressed and departed.

Mai glanced aside, watching the Moto make his depart, gave the customary farewell and then after but a moment of him being out of the bath she yet turned back to the tattoo.

"Flower yet riding the wave," she wondered, "may, I often imbue my own work with a story. Though this, if it were a story, is one that if I were to make my best appraisal was speaking of a beauty on the waves. Yet, not all do it as I do."

"May, is there a meaning to it you understand Kasuga Seitouna-sama?"

Seitouna also nods to the Moto, adding "Ride well, friend," before replying.

"Well, I did sail aboard the Wandering Blossom, so there is that to consider. And it is not uncommon for shipmates to mark themselves similarly. Whether I'll stride those decks again or run that rigging, I don't know, but I will always have done, so there's that."

He smiles.

"And there's much to commend it."

"May, that would make most sense Kasuga Seitouna-sama, how many years did you sail with this ship if it earned you the ink upon your arm?" she asked.

Long enough to learn two languages, Seitouna thinks before replying "It was several, as it happens. Not a single cruise, though, but a few nights in port now and again doesn't make for a separate voyage, as it were."

He shrugs.

"I left these shores a green hand and returned--not much more!" He laughs a bit. "I might make an able seaman if I ship on out again, but I doubt tomorrow will be the day I sail away."

When he laughed she smirked, slightly, but she didn't really catch the humor quite as effectively as he did. "May, you would need a sea for that I would thing. Kasuga Seitouna-sama," she said, in turn.

"Have your own wanderings taken you thence, Togashi-san? To the shores, and to the sea, deeper than the mountains are tall?"

"Yes, once," she turned about that the image inked onto her back was easily visible. A beach that formed below a high cliff, the ocean waves washing up toward the shore. "I was yet young, and it was.. it was a time I scarcely remember as it was a time from another life. Yet the image of the ocean yet meeting the land was one I had never forgotten. Such it was that it became the inspiration for this work, though I was not the one to needle it myself."
