[D11 LE] Gonna Need Some Time Off (closed)

Chen had just finished moving into he room next to Sukima's the day before. Since he tended to sleep during the morning and stay up through the night it seemed a practical measure to defend the Yogo and other important Scorpion who would likely not be far.

Tonight though he saw one of their own get captured and heard of another. This would not do, not only for clan loyalty but also secrets one of that captured was of station and likely held some knowledge that couldn't get out.

He approached Sukima's room and knocked softly waiting to be let in.

Chen entered the room slowly nodding to Sukima "How are you Yogo-sama?" He asked after getting situated in the room.

"I am... holding up. The order from Shosuro-sama is rankling, but it is what it is. And yourself?" She asked with a soft sigh.

He nodded in understanding "Ah hai Yogo-sama. I know we are of similar minds about the issue. Though it is what it is I suppose." He moved closer to her "Is it something you wish to speak more on? This one is an excellent listener it is half my job after all." He said with a small chuckle and a soft smile. Part of his job was being what people needed him to be.

"Perhaps, yes, though I am curious first about what bring you tonight?" She asked curiously. "Tea?"

He bowed "That would be lovely Yogo-sama. I came to inform you I wouldn't be guarding you for a few hours tonight. I saw one of ours get taken prisoner while trying to free some monks. I heard word that the magistrate was also taken while trying to rescue the Matsu woman. I plan to infiltrate the camp and look for a way to free our captives and perhaps find anything of interest, supplies, horses, The general's tent if I'm lucky."

Sukima nods and pulls out her tea set, setting things out meticulously. "If you're going to be doing something like that, you may need to truly focus. Allow me to perform a proper ceremony."

She gestured to the seat across the table from her as she began the careful and painstaking process.

Chen sat across from her and watched with a sort of appreciation in his eyes at the ceremony she performed it was beautiful in its own way and not just because Sukima was beautiful but because of the precision it required, the attention to detail, how each step served a purpose.

He watched closely at the beauty of the ceremony and the one performing it. When it was ready he did his part and drank feeling invigorated by the experience. He took a deep breath and looked Sukima in the eyes "Arigato Yogo-sama." He said softly, his gaze intent on her.

She turned her cup and lifted it, taking in the aroma before taking a sip, lowering it, and turning it again. There was a proper way to do these things, after all.

She opened her eyes and dipped her head toward him. "Of course. I'm happy to provide what aid I can."

He took another deep breath to clear his mind and focus "Did you still wish to speak about what was troubling you Yogo-sama?" He asked with most of his cool back under him.
