D11LE, Washing It Away (Open)

Seitouna, covered in mud and maybe other things, finds his way to the baths. Somehow, they are still open, and Seitouna thanks the attendants who remain on site. One of them even helps him scrub his back; the tattoos on his arm flex, the muscles underneath spasming after unaccustomed exercise, and it is hard for him to reach some places.

When he is clean, at last, the last traces of mud and the rest washed away, he eases gratefully into the warm waters, giving a barely audible groan as he does so. He lays his head back, draping a cloth over his face, and relaxes.

That witch had insulted Bashiru, her odor was magnificent such a fine horse she was. Still it irked him to be chastised in court by the Pincer girl. He cleansed himself as he had been shown and then once feeling clean enough he got into the bath to soak.

Someone else was already there so he announced himself as he entered., “Evening sayyed, don’t mind me just washing the shit and dirt of the road.”

Seitouna catches the accent and the strange term, knows it's a Moto, so when he lifts his head and takes the cloth off of it, he extends a hand and says "It's been much the same for me, my Moto friend. Kasuga Seitouna."

The Moto shook it firmly and said, "Hai, Moto Batzurig, good place, this. Kasuga? They are the Turtle, yes?"

"Tortoise, yes."

After the handshake, he settles back into the bath.

"You've met Moto Bataar, Moto-san?" Seitouna asks. "He's been a pleasant acquaintance this past week and a half."

"Sidi Baatar is a good man," he said in agreement. "I like you already if he claims you as friend."

"A man can never have too many friends," comes a quick reply.

He adds "I take it you were in Nikesake before the refugees from Toshi no Omoidasu arrived, then?"

"I was handling other business, but with things as is I must do something," he replied.

"I was in Toshi no Omoidasu when all this broke." He shakes his head sadly. "Damned messy affair, really. And made more so by internecine struggling.

"Can't hardly do business in such circumstances."

Eika had her warlions stay outside the bathhouse entrance, and went to wash up a bit. It was about time she scrub off the bull blood and mud. First she washed it off as was proper, then she slid into the baths distractedly. Only then did she notice the two men. "Pardon the intrusion, minna-san. This one is Matsu Eika."

Her skin was tanned and muscles rippled under her taught skin. She spent a lot of time outside training and it showed. Eika glanced over the others in the bath, noting tattoos and faces, being careful to avoid areas she shouldn't look at.

"Evening, sayyeda," he replied to the Matsu woman. Batzurig said to the Tortoise, "You would think we would not fight each other while a knife dangles over our heads but here we are."

A loud and admittedly inventive swear rolled through the entryway to the bath house, shortly before Bayushi Degarashi did the exact same thing. Though he managed to keep certain elements of his dignity, others had fled in terror from the enormous cats he'd seen standing watch out front. He did his best to keep himself from shaking as he prepared to enter the waters, eyes on the door, not yet aware of his company.

"One time. One time and they post lions to stand watch. Unbelievable..."

Seitouna nods to Eika as she enters, identifying himself as "Kasuga Seitouna" for clarity, and he certainly notices her formidable physique. A man has to attend to his surroundings, of course.

To Batzurig, he says "I have not heard that word before, friend, the 'sayyeda.'" He notably does not stumble over the pronunciation. "I am curious about it--and I agree that one threat is better dispatched before another is faced, but we do not always have such good fortune, eh?"

Then Degarashi enters, and his oath is matched by a similar one of Seitouna's own. The man is a sailor, after all. But he recognizes the source after a moment and chuckles. "My friend, the show is over for the day, the curtain fallen; come and join us!"

“It is a term of respect,” he said after some thought. “It is normal to me but not so normal to others outside the Unicorn.”

Seitouna nods and says "Customs differ, yet the intent of respect is always clear and to be valued."

Then he waits for others' words.

Sayyeda? Ah, Unicorn. Eika bows as best possible while in the bath to the Tortoise as he introduces himself.

Seeing the newcomer enter and hearing him gets a snort from Eika that soon turns into a warm laugh. "They won't eat you unless I tell them to. You are safe, Samurai-sama."

Degarashi eventually slinks his way into the tub, favoring proximity to Seitouna as he offers his bows and words of respect. "Neh, konbonwa Seitouna-sama, Matsu-sama. Mmmm...moto...sama?" He had very little familiarity with the Unicorn beyond being able to recognize them and poorly portray them on occasion.

"The performance only truly ends in one way, friend. Before then all the world's a stage." He turned to eye Eika. "I shall endeavor to avoid any unnecessary eating, Matsu-sama."

Degarashi and his bland dumpling skin tone was feeling rather self conscious among the tattoos and tan jobs.

Seitouna chuckles again at Degarashi's words.

"True enough, and the exit comes soon enough for us all. But tonight, then, we still perform."

The Tortoise rolls his neck.

"But, to introduce all, Moto Batzurig," and he gestures, "and Bayushi Degarashi," another gesture.

"And now we are not strangers, eh?"

Degarashi nodded during the introductions, then eyed the Moto curiously.

"You have bats in the what now?"

He really didn’t understand all the metaphors about acting so he just took it at face value for now. He nodded to the bland man and then the Kasuga and said, “Indeed, Moto is fine, Bayushi-san.”

“Indeed we are strangers, no more.”
