(D10, LE, Open) Peaceful Violence

It was not often that Poemu visited dojo. She wasn't martial in the least after all, not the bow, knife, or even her wakizashi. It wasn't as if she were a strict pacifist like some others, more that she just never found a need or desire to train in fighting.

Still, a dojo held a certain peacefulness for her, especially when they were quiet as this one was this late evening. The rain fell outside still, though perhaps it was letting up? She found a seat by a window that looked out onto the rainy night. The dim light of brazier's dully filled the room behind her, casting shadows from the training dummies.

"KONBANWA! YOROSHIKU ONEGAISHIMASU!"

Shouts the armored Miharu at the door of the dojo, bowing to the spirit of the place.

Horonigai was up to no good since this morning: searching for an opening to join the war effort to let her rage take its course honorably, or die in glory and be free of the shame she was carrying. After all, she failed in her duty as a Miharu, and to her Family, being dumped with an Imperial announcement.

The Seppun takes some time to dry herself up and remove the mud on feet and legs before entering the sacred place.

It was impossible to miss Horonigai's entrance, but though she looked over, she didn't say anything, not yet. The Seppun girl seemed troubled, but she wasn't certain if she should disturb the Miharu unduely. She remained seated in seiza, hands folded into her lap, smiling sadly toward Horo.

After lending out a hand at the Dragon embassy, Wasako did roam around the neighbour to keep a passive eye on things. It wasn't safe anywhere in the city after the day's events and the survivors of Toshi no Omoidoso found themselves once again in danger. She was perhaps curious to see some light coming from the dojo and found herself drawn to it like a moth to a flame. Were there people still out? She supposed the dojo was perhaps defensible by the attendants alone.

She entered through the front entrance and removed her straw hat to drain it from the rain, doing something similar to Horonigai to keep the place clean.

"Oh, Seppun-sama, good evening," she said bowing deeply to her.

"...wa, Mirumoto-san." She greets the woman with another bow, and notices Poemu in seiza, smiling.

Horonigai moves toward the Agasha and bows in a greeting. Then, she goes to her knees in a thump as the armor clashes down on the floor, and moves into seiza.

After greeting the Seppun, she would soon turn her attention to the rest of the dojo and notice Poemu sitting there. She looked quizzically at her at first, wondering if there was another Dragon or bushi here to watch over her. Was it entirely safe to be on your own right now?

However, she didn't want to further question her superior and bowed deeply to greet Poemu as well, also moving toward her afterwards. "Agasha-sama! Good evening to you too....have you been here long?"

Poemu had smiled as Wasako entered, just as she had at Horonigai's, and gave the same seated bow. She welcomed Horonigai's seating herself with a nod before she looked to Wasako's question. "I have been here for some time, hai. Seppun-sama had just arrived before you had, so it is quite the auspicious meeting."

There was a pause, and a slightly wry smile. "And before you ask, I was seen here by a Lion bushi. He insisted on staying guard outside, but I told him I would be fine. I saw that look when you entered."

Wasako smiled faintly, wondering if her concerns were that obvious. However, she merely nodded her head twice in acceptance on the matter and allowed it to drop. She wasn't her yojimbo and things were safer now at least, although she may recommend that Poemu retired for the night to the newly reinforced Dragon embassy before it got later.

"In that case, I hope it's not too much if I were to join you both?" she said as she approached the two, since she did not have rank. "It's just good to see familiar faces after this day is through."

Horonigai nods to Wasako so she joins them. "The siege will be maintained. Mirumoto-san's worries are definitely well put. There was a report of incidents within the city. I recommend having a yojimbo for those of station not carrying daisho."

She removes her sheathed katana and lays it at her left with the edge turned toward her.

Poemu smiled warmly at that. "Arigato minna-sama, for your worries. At the least, I will have both of you to see me back."

Her gaze went to Horonigai, and she gave a look of sympathy. "I heard from others that Asako Kashiwagi-sama is one that fell in battle. Having already lost a dear friend myself in Ikoma Homura, know that I will pray for you both." She had heard of the others as well, for their own reasons, but hadn't heard if they were known to Horonigai, let alone Wasako.

She knew about it, but didn't have a confirmation so far. Horonigai was actually trying to avoid others so she wouldn't receive the news about Kashiwagi.

The Seppun takes a look to the empty spot at the bokken rack and reminds herself of the request she made to the Inquisitor earlier. To fix that which was broken.

Kashi-kun...

Hotonigai looks up to the ceiling, as the sound of the rain drums over their heads. A single drop rolls down her cheek.

"It is raining inside."

The heartbroken maiden closes her eyes.

Wasako nodded and approached the two ladies, settling down into a seiza of her own and putting her own blades aside. She smiled faintly at Poemu that she would take an escort back to the embassy at the very least. The enemy failed to breach the walls but yesterday's incidents have been a reminder that the enemy are able to attack within.

She quirked her brows at the mention of Asako Kashiwagi. While she only shared a few words with him, he was well-known through the Empire and his death would send ripples everywhere. She tried not to think too much what it meant if a great hero like him could fall in battle as nothing good would surely come of it. The Dragon looked to the Seppun and quickly looked away as if trying to avoid the sight of something she surely didn't really see and only fell quiet.

While Wasako looked away out of polite deference, Poemu reached out to put a hand onj top of one of Horonigai's for a moment, giving it a soft squeeze of assurance before folding her hands into her lap again. "Sumimasen, Seppun-sama. Know that we are here for you."

Looking outside, she gave a soft scowl. It wasn't a look she took on very often at all. "This rain can most certainly stop anytime. Seeing Lady Sun's gaze again would bring me some peace of mind."

"Arigatou, Agasha-san."

She replies softly, and brings the hand that was squeezed to wipe out the drop. With a deep breath, the Seppun fills her lungs to find reasoning. Perhaps due the presence of two Dragons, she manages to find a thin connection with the Void lingering within the dojo.

Horonigai's eyes nearly close and her hands join together over her lap, forming the zazen hand mudra. She quietly whispers, "mokusoooooooooo..."

The Seppun zones out, even if momentarily.

Upon seeing the Seppun go into a meditative state, she had perhaps thought it was best to follow her example. She had meditated before but after such a tiring and chaotic day, finding inner order was perhaps the only respite they could find on short notice. They can't change what already happened but they could consider the present and the future.

Wasako looked to Peomu and gave her a few nods to show that would join Horonigai for a bit at least. She adopted a lotus position and closed her eyes, keeping as quiet as possible to not disturb the Seppun's on concentration.

Day 10, Late Evening: Meditation: 7d10o10k4 24

Ah, meditation. That was what they were doing, she was sure of it! The Miya didn't meditate a lot, and she never bothered to learn how to. Really, it couldn't hurt, could it? It was supposed to calm and center a person that could do it right, after all.

She didn't FEEL particularly calm, All Poemu could think about was all the things that had happened that day. Peeking open an eye, she saw the other two looked quite calm indeed. Pouting just a moment, she smiled to herself instead at how skilled her friends were. While the two meditated, she looked out the window and waited. She wasn't in a rush, and just listening to the rain calmed her enough.

Zoning back into Ningen-do, Horonigai claps her hands and looks to the other two. She feels rather refreshed in seeing Poemu, and how cute she was when frustrated. Besides the soft clap, she remains quiet, waiting for Wasako.

The last time she meditated, she returned to impending conflict. She was perhaps glad this wasn't the case now. They couldn't change the circumstances by just sitting here but she found the exercise relaxing and peaceful. This was even more true when doing meditation with others, even if they didn't share the same journey but they did return to the same place in the end. Now that she felt peace again, perhaps it was a reminder of what she should do to defend it.

At the sound of the Seppun's claps, opened her eyes once more and smiled sheepishly at the two. "Welcome back."

Poemu's warm, genuine smile melted her On away as she looked to the two. "You are both so admirable Seppun-sama, Mirumoto-san. You both know how to fight, how to meditate, and do so many different things. It warms me to know that samurai such as you are inside the walls of Nikesake. It is why I still feel safe, despite the uncertainty and danger I perhaps should."

She smiled bashfully at the compliment and gave Poemu a bow of thanks. "...Thank you, Agasha-sama. I don't know I know much beyond what you speak of but if I have contributed in making you feel safer in anyway, I'm very glad for that."
