"I'm not quite ready to sign up for bushi school, but if you want to spar sword versus knife, that'd have value. Bow versus knife would perhaps give you a bit too much advantage." she replied.

"Perhaps but perhaps you'll learn to dodge them if the incentive is high enough." He said with a small chuckle. "But hai if you wish to spar I won't turn you down, just have to make sure people dont peek in. Cant have people talking about how deft and sure footed old chenbaka is."

"You think I'll deny myself the amusement of watching you throw a spar and an easy win for myself?" she ribbed him. "You truly are a fool, Chenbaka."

She shrugged.

"But I can appreicate a real spar as well."

"Yes the Yogo vs. the fool. I'm sure you'll be able to get that Yasuki girl to sell tickets." he said dryly "Where did you learn to wield a knife? MOst people I see holding like that are peasants and thugs." his job being what it was he often came inot contact with the less savory denizens of the empire.

"The last time I lived with family, we lived in Ryoko Owari Toshi. It's not a nice town." she offered with a small smile.

"Ah yes the City of Stories, I've heard it can be a marvelous town or a rather dangerous one. I've only spent a little bit of time there myself and that was for business. So you got along with some street toughs and they taught you how to fight with a knife? That sounds like it could be an interesting tale in it's own right."

"I'm not much of a storyteller, Chen-san. You should ask Bland-san. Even if he doesn't know the truth of it, his telling would be much more exciting." she says.

Aya shrugged a bit.

"Actors." she said. "Perhaps Dega-san feels he's the star of the show, and you're an unworthy supporting character?"

She twirled the practice knife a bit.

"But hai, when I moved to Ryoko Owari Toshi, I was a bit bored, and so I "convinced" a boy in one of the fireman gangs to teach me the basics of knife fighting."

She grinned a bit.

"Care to guess how I did that?"

"Yes I believe he said my little act lacked...finesse but he said he would help me with that so perhaps its not a bridge burned."

He chuckled at her story "I imagined you asked him sweetly with much fluttering of eyelash." He replied dryly

"Oh Aya-san I never was a fan of stories where the teller leaves out details for the audience to fill in the gaps, it just feels lazy to me." He said with a smirk of his own.

"It's not too hard to capitalize on the reputation of the Yogo family. Most people are willing to do quite a bit if it will get them out of their lives a moment sooner." she said.
