Indecision (day 10 early morning)

That morning, Moto Baatar was lurking outside the entrance of the Phoenix Blessing Temple. The Unicorn looked toward the entrance for awhile, then looked away, apparently dithering over whether to go inside.

It was one of those mornings that Inugami is thankful for what was an insightful conversation on the previous evening. He decided to visit the Phoenix Blessing Shrine. As he walked he saw this interesting character that seemed worried or maybe confused on where to enter or not. "Excuse me, sama can I help you?"

The Unicorn stopped his dithering upon seeing Inugami and bowed.

"Oh, sorry, I was just trying to decide if I wanted to bother the monks here," he explained. "I suppose they must be very busy."

Inugami arc a brow. "Bother? They are here to guide us. I doubt you will be bothering them." He motioned the Moto to follow him. "Why do you think you would be bothering them?"

Baatar wrung his hands as he followed Inugami into the temple. "Well, I wanted to ask them some questions," he explained. "But I'm afraid they might consider them foolish."

Though the rain was tiring, Kayou again began her kata-dance to welcome back Lady Sun. Her silent prayers were, perhaps, a little more fervant. She missed the caress of sunlight and would welcome the hope implied by even a single ray of sunlight. Never the less, the day and indeed the world was impossible without Ameterasu's love and light and she would thank the goddess for both.

"Oh--! A monk!" Baatar exclaimed, as if observing a strange and rare bird.

"Oh wait, she's busy," he realized, as Kayou performed her kata. "Maybe better not to bother her."

"Foolish is keeping the questions to oneself." He nodded. He noticed the woman doing her morning kata. Baatar comment was founded but yet...

"Patience is a virtue monks teach many. We can wait for her to finish and you can go ahead and ask your questions." He smiled. "You are not from Rokugan, are you?" He realize that might sounded better in his head. "I am sorry... I mean no offense."

"No, it's all right," the Unicorn replied. "I'm Moto Baatar, from the Unicorn Clan. I've been in Rokugan about a year, but I'm still getting used to your eastern customs."

"I mean, not that they are strange or anything," he amended. "They're just... different."

Kayou finishes her kata, bows deeply to Lady Sun, up there somewhere and moves to see if the petitioners need help.

"Good morning, mina-sama. May this one be of aid?"

Akemi hummed a tune to herself as she approached the shrines, intending to pay respects at the Asahina shrine. She looked more Crane than Unicorn after all in her blue and purple kimono and under her blue umbrella with flowers.

She paused near the entrance, hearing a familiar voice, before noticing Baatar and the legendary Kayou! With a warm smile she moved to approach, bowing deeply.

Kayou returns the bow. "You have changed clans since we last met, what should this one call you?"

"Moto" Akemi said with a smile "although Akemi is fine Kayou-sensei. I hope you are well? I shouldn't be surprised that in the moments where the Empire needs its greatest heros, you stand here."

She turned to Baatar and the Phoenix.

"Baatar-san, Isawa-sama, allow me to introduce Kayou. Heroine of...just about every place I can think of."

"It is an honor to meet you both. This one is Isawa Inugami." He bowed to the former Crane and the abbess. "I was going to practice morning meditation when I saw this soul in need of guidance." He motioned to Baatar.

Kayou nods to them both. "A pleasure, Moto-san, Isawa-sama. If this one can help, she will."

"Kayou-sensei intends to fight?" Akemi smiled brighter "that is wonderful! I wish there would be no fighting, and that a peaceful solution could be found, but in this instance I do not believe there is one."

She paused, before adding "ano...maybe I can assist? I am trained in defensive magics, and I provided Baatar-san a delayed blessing of the kami to aid him in the fighting today. I could offer the same to you, so that you can continue to inspire."

"Akemi-san, you are too kind to this one," says Kayou. "She will stand in defense of the Empire against those seeking to bring misery."

"Allow me to offer my blessings then Kayou-sensei. One moment."

Akemi moved a little further away, closing her umbrella and allowing the water to rinse over her as she drew out a scroll. She began to read from it, the water slowing round round her and then turning into little bubbles hovering in the air, much like Baatar might remember.

As the bubbles moved around the little Moto priestess, she drew her second scroll, starting to read from it while spinning on the spot. Suddenly, a ferocious tornado formed around Akemi, blowing paper and hats away before it start to shrink, more and more, until it fit inside one of the bubbles surrounding Akemi - then floating into her as she finished the spell.

With one final spell, she called the vortex bubble out of herself, floating into Kayou.

"That is done. When you most need it Kayou-sense, whisper For Rokugan and the Air kami stored within that bubble will jump to your aid, released by the water kami. You won't be able to hear while you're protected, but the sheer force of the Air kami will protect you from swords and arrows. I know I don't need to tell you to not say it now" there was a small chuckle from the girl.

"Um, yeah!" the young Unicorn admitted. "But what I was looking for wasn't all that important. Nothing to bother a Hero about."

"It does look like there will be fighting today," Baatar agreed. "Maybe a lot of it. I'm hoping to help!"
