"Ryuuta-San, this one hopes you are well." She seemed distracted and surprisingly pale. Yep, she had most certainly been there. Though, it was all a blur to her.

She nodded at the one who nodded at her, unsure what other greeting to offer.

"Ohayo, Sara-San. This one is quite fond of Scorpion plays. Perhaps, some time, we can speak of your works?"

"H-hai! This one attended that wedding. There were a great many yams..." Her voice quivered ever the slightest. I swear he grew...

Her eyes moved between the snake and the Mantis, addressing them both, and then waited for the others to speak.

One of Kin's greatest abilities was to observe. So he quietly listened for the moment, waiting for the tingle of the cold to fully leave his fingers and toes.

He gave a brief nod at the scorpion's question, not mentioning the difficulty with his name. It was a mouthful for many rokugani he had found. "I do, Shosuro-san. Sulfur, it smells like. Said to be beneficial to the health of skin, and often present in natural hot springs such as this one." a faint smile, and a shrug, in a 'what can you do' sort of manner. "Ah yes. You had a...." He paused, remembering the word "A dog with you then. Jiro i think his name was? Is your four legged friend still well?"

Kanade sent a slight sympathetic frown to the Scorpion. She, too, did not care for the smell. However, warm water felt nice and reminded her of the Isles.

"Ah, yes! Jiro is alive and well! I am honored you remembered his name. He has found himself a female friend! I am hoping for pups by the thaw." Kanade smiled at The Shakanar and winked.

"Dogs are really useful animals, especially during the winter. Congratulations Kanade-san." She smiled.

"Do your kind keep pets Sak-sama?"

While he was listening, he took note of the smell and was pleasantly surprised that it was far from the worst smelling onsen he had been in. Ronin life did kind of stink at times.

"new life in the spring is always a blessing" He gave a faint smile, looking over at Sara. "We did, before we underwent the Great Slumber. The Shakanar before me raised songbirds. Since reawakening, we have been too busy finding our footing and our place in this new world to do so, though I know that some of the younger Naga have started doing so. I know of at least one who has taken to keeping a lucky cricket, like a Samurai of the hare that he conversed with."

The shakanar before you? "Jiro is quite the brave dog, Sara-san. He helped scout with aformer clansmate, back when I was of the Crab, deep in a cave under Kyuden Agasha. To a place where the rocks became liquid fire and dripped from the walls."

She listened and smiled at the Shakanar. Kanade had quite the soft spot for pets.

Mogami sunk deep into the water for a moment, allowing it to come up to her eyes as she took in the heat of the onsen. After a few moments she sat upright slightly, the water keeping her obscured from the neck down.

"Perhaps I misheard, The Shakanar before you? Is not the Shakanar your name, or is it a title?"

"It is more than both," Kin finally chimes back in. "It is much how the celestial wheel exists for our rebirth. But the Naga have an ancestral memory. But where we are reborn into a new station and body with no memory of the past incarnations, the Akasha shares the memories of past generations with present generations, the soul being able to tap into it's prior memories at a certain level." He looks to the Shakanar to confirm, or to provide more detail if he desires.

Sara's lips formed a small 'o' in seeming surprise. Despite her many, many skills, spirituality was not one of them.

She slowly moved her hand to let her hair fall into the water, going through the strands, the water washing through them.

He gave a faint nod "It is, at its simplest, as Ryuuta-sama has described it. Our names and our Titles are one and the same. The Tausha, when she passes, will be replaced by the Tausha, who will draw upon both their life experiences, and the experiences of all who have passed before them, conveyed to us through the Akasha. It is through the wisdom of those who went before us that we prepare for and build for the future."

"Do you retain skills from prior generations?" It was perhaps a blunt question, but to her the one most worth asking.

"How it has been explained to me is that the Akasha is like a place where all their souls reside. There's not really a good analogy among the spirit realms because those souls are both within and without. But it links them all. They are not individuals in the same way humans are, but in their own way. It is..."

"Well, it's actually much more difficult to understand explaining it in our tongue. Their words make much more sense explaining it than ours do. Understanding it has made it much easier to learn their ways, but speaking it is really quite a challenge."

"And as far as I know, they don't retain skills as much as they retain knowledge of skills, and with effort they can call on the memory of those skills to aid them in times of need."

"The Shakanar and I have discussed this topic in the past with him using his native tongue, and it was much easier to grasp that way. Trying to explain it is like trying to teach someone how to use a sword with an open umbrella. You can kind of do it, but it won't be exactly right."

"Knowledges mostly, as Ryuuta-sama explained. Skills are as much remembered by muscles as they are by memories. Someone could explain to you, in fine detail, how to wield a sword. But until you have trained your body to do it, it is still not a skill you have." a soft sigh as he coiled up in the warm water for a little deeper.
