I was mostly just wondering if there's any point to using the Ide Trader technique on other players.

I would essentially check with the player in question. If they're willing to let you leverage Ally to get them to cooperate on more stuff, then go for it. But by nature, that sort of requires them to go along with it.

I assume for the spell/kata development part, every person and every roll done for the spell/kata development requires 1 xp? Or is it just the original roll

Every time someone makes a roll to assist, it costs the person making the roll 1 xp.
