"Oh? Of course Suki-sama." She finished the last of her hair, half done more or less, before handling the comb back to her.

"Ah. You know him well?"

"He is my sibling. We had some of the same teachers and his former fiance was practically my little sister. So we were probably... less distant than from some of our siblings," she replied as she turned, looking thoughtfully at Sara's eyes and face. At one point she even touched the other woman's chin lightly to angle it. Finally, she decided, "I think you'd look good in red. It couldn't be too orangey, though. An auburn would be pretty."

"Former fiance? Oh my...there is certainly some juicy gossip there then,eh?"

She smiled and allowed Sukima to do with her as she pleased, turning as she followed. "Auburn eh? Nothing too bright, or striking?" She reached for the comb once again.

"Indeed. He switched betrotheds to Bayushi Rumiko-sama. He was not unattached before," she replied, eyebrows raised.

"Auburn can be very striking depending on the richness of tone. I think you'd certainly need something very vivid to complement your looks, but more like a darker color. I was more saying I don't think coppery would suit you."

"Ah, arigatou." She gently pushed Sukima so she can continue combing. "We are not done yet Suki-sama. Perhaps I will take a look at the market, for something suitable."

She was thinking on the matter for a moment. "What kind of person is he?"

She turned around obediently to allow her to finish.

"He's... ambitious. Willing to do whatever it takes to get what he's after. If it was properly focused, that's not a bad thing, but I think it's focused on himself." She sighed.

"I see." She let out a low sound, as she continued on her hair.

"Sounds like a few Scorpion I know." She sighed, internally.

"Proper focus is always important." She stated simply. "Have you talked to him recently?"

"Indeed," she agreed with an open sigh. "I haven't. Not recently. I doubt he'd be inclined after I spoke out against him in court, especially since I am technically a rival."

"Oh?" Sara formed a small 'o' in surprise as she was slowly finishing. "That is technically true, Suki-sama. So, I can say I combed the future Empress?" She smiled in jest.

"In the sense that he and I have about the same level of claim," she replied with a chuckle. "I can't say the thought has never crossed my mind, but I am all too aware of the problems it would present."

"Mhm....a crown would suit your beautiful hair. Or some accessories." She finished up her work, but let her fingers run through her hair one more time.

"What do you think will happen now?"

She sighed happily as the fingers running through her hair before she turned and started to braid it, taking the occasional sip of sake. "For now... The army should be at our gates soon, and that will likely take most of our attention. My brother will continue his divide and conquer strategy, now with the help of some of his followers here. It might be easier with everyone distracted. Those who believe in my brother and the Empress will have to stand strong."

Sara listened and slowly finished. "There. Done. You look amazing Suki-sama." She beamed with pride.

"Would Suki-sama be so kind as to do mine?" She was confident in the forthcoming answer, but still, it was only proper.

"Mmhmm, it is quite strange, I would say. Also...the Miya came and spread the news. Gomen my ignorance, but can Seppun Kato-san just do that? Does that mean that the Miya are on his side?"

"Of course," she replied, taking the comb and moving behind Sara after quickly loosely braiding and tying off her own hair. She didn't want Sara's work to go to waste. She started brushing carefully.

"He remains a powerful member of the Imperial Families. Under the circumstances, he may only need that. I think he intended people to take it as the Miya being on his side, but it's really quite hard to say. Likely they just felt they were doing their duty."

Sara's glossy black hair was a little bit below shoulder length, more manageable, though the last few weeks of travel and refugee status does show in some lack of care.

"I see. That is somewhat understandable, although I still dislike the situation. So many unknowns in an already tumultuous situation. Perhaps...Suki-sama should try contacting him? Just in case? To see if she can learn more?"

The combing was easy, so Sukima instead decided to style Sara's hair, experimenting with how to part, braid, and put it up.

"I agree. He... Do you mean Kato?"

Sara giggled at the ministrations.

"Hai. I feel we are blind here, just flailing around, trying to stay above the water. So...like a blind man swimming in the ocean?" That metaphor got away from her it seemed.

"... I can try sending him a letter. Why not? The worst we'll get is a scroll of lies," she replied with a sigh and a shrug. "Ask how he got ahold of the Miya to deliver his nonsense? Anything else you want me to ask?"

Sara nodded, then recalled pitching her head forward might not be amenable to hair styling.

"Gomen. you might also inquire about the sudden change in fiances? As one sibling to the other."

Sukima brought around a hand mirror so she could see the style. "Sure. What do you think?"
