"That works." Amaya agrees with her cousin's choice.

She watches how Miwako interacts with her child. Is this what babies are like? Cute but fussy?

Miwako nodded. "That would be a good choice."

The child was quiet again, content to be in her mother's arms again.

"Ok. Ja, could we have that please?" She asks cheerfully. Full of quests, Maiya speaks her mind to learn as much as possible. It was combat relevant. "And there aren't any side effects, ne? Should we try to use the spell in a certain amount of time?"

A little tension leaves her shoulders as she nods in understanding. "So, no side effects? Ok. Then, please do so Isawa-sama. In return, is there anything my cousin and I can do for you?"

"Other than the potential to burn things unintentionally, no." she shook her head. "I am simply pleased I can help those who would defend us. I will leave it up to the two of you, if you wish to do some favor in return."

"For now, perhaps you could hold Wagikahi?" she asked holding up the infant. "Sometimes she just wants to be held, but I'll need my hands to perform the prayers."

She had another sip of tea before setting it down and crossing her arms, nodding in agreement with Amaya. "Definitely."

Then the Phoenix wanted one of them to hold her child. With a little smirk Maiya reached out to pay her cousin's shoulder. "This is a job for you Amaya-san."

That brings a visible flush to Amaya's cheeks and after a first moment of hesitation she reaches out to carefully try and pick up the adorable baby girl.

One last glance at Miwako to check if everything is good and then the Crab Berserker's full attention is on Wagikashi. Having little knowledge on what to actually do with such a cute little bundle though, she opts to gently sway her back and forth.

The Phoenix gave the Crab a reassuring smile, as did the child.

Once her baby was in good hands, Miwako set out three scrolls and began reciting prayers, reaching out to touch one cousin, then the other.

Maiya watched quietly. She'd not seen a shugenja cast from up close like this. At least, not without it being a dangerous situation where she could watch. The number of scrolls was also impressive. It seemed like a lot of work!

When Miwako touched her hand she concentrated carefully to see if she felt anything different, whether in that moment or afterwards.

As curious as Amaya is about the entire wondrous process ... she does not notice a single moment of it. There is something even more wondrous right there in her arms.

The smaller smile is inevitably returned.

There was perhaps a bit of warmth that passed between them. The sensation would linger at the edge of awareness, an indication that the fire kami remained with Maiya, waiting for their moment.

The Isawa took her time, allowing Amaya to enjoy her time with Wagikashi, who gurgled and laughed.

Maiya picked her tea up once more, having some and turning to watch Amaya and the baby. It brought a big smile to her lips. You look super happy Ama-chan.

As long as Wagikashi is happy, Amaya is engrossed in playing with her. Right now the taciturn bushi is painting random patterns into the air with her index finger to try and entertain the baby. All with a little smile on her lips.

"She likes you." Miwako smiled. The girl laughed again, stretching her arms.
