In her room, Miwako hummed softly as she fed Wagikashi. She was expecting some visitors, but the child would not be denied.

It was still early morning when the pair of Crab arrived. They'd announced themselves and a servant had let them in. Thankfully they'd been expected.

That same servant now scratched at Miwako's door to inform her that Kaiu Amaya and Kaiu Maiya were here to see her.

With the feeding finished, the door was opened and Miwako greeted them with a careful bow and a smile. The baby squirmed a bit in her arms.

"Ohayou, mina-sama. Please, come in."

"Shitsurei shimasu. Arigato." Maiya intones softly as she steps inside. She'd consciously chosen not to wear her armour this morning, since she was visiting an Embassy. However, she was being quiet because of the baby.

Amaya follows right after her larger cousin. She gives a silent bow in lieu of any verbal greeting and gives the baby in Miwako's arms a curious look, once the brief flicker of surprise at the sight is done with.

Babies are adorable and bring a little smile to the young Crab's lips.

"Have you had rice today?" she asked as she motioned to a sitting area with tea on a nearby table.

Offering her own bow in greeting, Maiya then slid the door closed behind them. When motioned to sit she would do so.

"We just had breakfast at our inn, thank you. And you Isawa-sama?" She asks in a particularly quiet voice.

Amaya gives responds with a nod to Miwako's question and sits down at the table as well.

Being curious, she can't help but glance around the room. Everything here is different from what she is familiar with back home. Soldier barracks really do not compare to this kind of luxurious living.

"We just finished our breakfast." She looked down at the girl who appeared to be sleepy. "Now it's time to lay down."

She looked back up at the Kaiu cousins. "Have you decided on which you'd like? A healing spell or the fiery protection spell?"

They'd gone quick from greetings to more serious matters. Maiya glanced to her cousin and then back to Miwako. "Ano, we hoped to hear a little more about each first. Shall I serve this tea? It smells very pleasant."

"Hai." she nodded. "If you would, while I lay her down."

She set the baby down in a nearby cradle, sitting down beside it.

"The healing spell won't mend all wounds if your badly hurt, but it will help significantly. The fire spell envelops you in the fire kami, setting fire to anything you touch, including those who attack you or whom you attack."

With a nod and a friendly smile the Crab poured tea and set it down in front of everyone, starting with Miwako and finishing with herself. She listened about the spells and considered the information carefully.

"Wouldn't the fire magic be dangerous? We would be on fire, so would any other friendly samurai that bumped into us and... if we went near a building it could be really bad." Maiya asked cautiously, having no knowledge of such things and only imagining disaster.

"Yes." She nodded emphatically. "You could even harm one another. Only yourself and the items you are carrying would be safe from your flames."

Amaya listens in quietly. Her attention seems to be mostly on the cute little bundle in the shugenja's arms, but the current matter of discussion makes her look up and turn towards her cousin.

"Dangerous, but should suit our fighting style."

"It will last for one minute." she advised. "And, you'll need to decide on how you wish to activate it."

"It would..." Maiya agrees with her cousin, her mind trying to picture fighting enemies while on fire. It at least sounded pretty glorious. That would be good.

If they survived.

"What ways are there to activate it Isawa-sama?"

"You could say something, make a particular motion or do something, like drawing your weapon." she explained. "Of course, you don't want it to be something you might do by accident."

Amaya turns to look at her cousin. Her own decision is easy. She rarely speaks and never by accident.

Maiya rubbed her cheek as she thought it through.

"Ja, how about an act like thumping our katana tsuba with weapon drawn and in hand? Or would saying a few words be more precise?"

"I would keep it simple, but it can be anything." Wagikashi began to fuss and Miwako picked her up again.
