Seitouna finds a small eatery on the Street of Scrolls--a fitting place for him to have a bite to eat and set about putting his notes in order.

Seitouna pauses, considering. It would be nice, indeed, he thinks. I do weary of bunking alone. And I can always use more material for my pillow-booking. And he resumes writing.

Perhaps there will be some better regard for tetsudine methods here.

Sara was up unusually early, holding her powder blue umbrella up above her head as she walked around on Scroll Street, down the left from Main Street. Her walk was idle, with only a small goal if any, but her attention was caught by someone (a Tortoise?) furiously scribbling at something at an eatery. Her interest piqued, she moved closer, silently, trying to sneak a look at his writing.

Seitouna's attention remains firmly on his writing and on his food as Sara looks on, but, did he want to hide what he was writing, he'd've written it differently.

He sighs contentedly after a sip of tea steeped longer than most would like it.

"Eeeeeh, Kasuga-san? Are you an author?" Sara asked in a high pitched voice, as she was standing closer to the Tortoise as is technically proper, a smile playing on her lips.

Seitouna had happily set his cup down, because he startles at the sound so close to him.

After a heartbeat, though, he smiles. How can he not, seeing such beauty? and he stands to bow. "Scorpion-sama," he says, "I have endeavored to that end."

He gestures to a seat opposite him. "The tea is good, and the food, if she would care to join a humble writer."

"Oh? Your first book Kasuga-san?" She asked with a small question as she walked (or maybe pranced) over opposite to him. "Mhm, tea sounds lovely while you tell me more about the tetsudine methods." She winked at him, as she sat. "What kind of tea are you having?"

Seitouna resumes his seat. He's a gentleman, certainly, though the smile he gives at Sara's question is perhaps a strange one.

"'Have endeavored,' Scorpion-sama, not 'am endeavoring.' But this will be the first of the genre I've penned, when and if I can complete it."

He affects a surprised expression. "But where are my manners. Kasuga Seitouna," he adds, nodding his head to her. "And I asked for the strongest tea they have, steeped long."

"Ah gomen. Without my morning team, I am a little bit slow. I hope you will forgive me Kasuga-san." Her eyes slowly wondered over him. "Shosuro Sara, of Taishou Hikari acting troupe."

She placed her own order for the same brew. "Oh? Might I know of your previous work? What's the title?"

"Taishou Hikari? Ah, you were to perform...yes." He nods. "I had heard that you were putting together something before this most recent relocation.

"But as to the work I have done before, I should be surprised had you concerned yourself with such humble matters as my pen-work."

"Hai, before all this unpleasantness." She sneered as the tea was delivered with some sweets. She held the cup in her hands, absorbing its warmth.

"So you're saying I am too good to be interested in the arts, Kasuga-san? Or should I consider your work not art, but rather something else?" She smiled as she spoke, her answer more thorns for fun's sake than true challenge.

"Shosuro-san's goodness exceeds my attestation, of course, and there are many who would affirm her second point for her, for the Family name if not for other reasons."

She will find the tea exceptionally bitter, steeped longer than it ought to have been, really. It perhaps says something of Seitouna that he drinks it not in a sip, but in a draught.

"But if she wished to make her own judgment of the matter, Shosuro-san could easily find such small works as are called The Whale Dives Deep or Returning to Port. They generally do not move much inland, though, and we are not beside the seas, here."

"Oh? Kasuga-san does know that I will be deadset on finding myself a copy, you know?" She smiled.

"I did not know Kasuga are generally known for their artistic work, so now I am completely captivated with interest. I prefer broadening my horizon as best as I can." She smiled, and took a sip, her face turning briefly sour. "Now that, will wake me up."

She waited for a moment. "Your book is about what exactly, Kasuga-san?"

"I'd not say we are generally known for artistic pursuits, but that does not mean we do not have them. We can hardly live where we do and not, after all. But as to copies, I welcome Shosuro-san to find them. And perhaps another time, I could discuss them in greater detail with her. When circumstances are more congenial to such discussions."

He takes another drink of the tea.

"But the one for which I have been making notes, ah, that will be more a novel of current events than the more, shall we say, fanciful works I have written previously. And there are so many compelling stories here, so much rich detail, I shall have no dearth of sourcing."

"Hai. The tapestry of tragedy is deep in detail and rich in risk." She smiled at her alliteration. "Perhaps one day I shall write the story of our trek. A tale of two cities, or some such."

She smiled and bit into a small sweet, her eyes glancing over to him, wordlessly inviting. "What's your favorite tale currently?"

"Each has their charms, of course, and adds its own richness. I encountered an armorer in Toshi no Omoidasu whose hammering helped refine things there. I spoke at some length with a Dragon of the far north, as well, and with a remarkable Akodo named Touki.

"But I am, of course, always in search of more material. And some discourses offer more delights than others."

He meets her gaze openly.

"Oh? I'm sure I'm too boring compared to your tales Kasuga-san. I would not wish to impede on your work." She smiled in false modesty.

"Which Dragon? I think there are a few here. An oddly high number." She placed a sweet in her mouth as she slowly munched on it.

"I had noted that, yes, about the Dragon. It does make for some interesting times."

He watches her eat the sweet, takes a bite from his own meal. After, he goes on.

"But I doubt that you would be an impediment. You are, yourself, an artist, and artists are always such compelling figures." Do his eyes flicker over her? Maybe, but a man can hardly be faulted for seeing his surroundings. "The tension between following convention enough to keep an audience and moving away from it enough to give them a reason to come along...it is a delicate thing, and knowing how others do it is enlightening."

Sara smiled as she continued to nibble, slowly, sensually, before finishing it.

"You strike me as someone who prefers bucking convention to bowing before it." She took another sip of tea, her tongue slipping out to taste it.

"Is there anything you'd like to ask Kasuga-san?"

A great many things, he thinks, including what else you can do with those lips.

He says something different, though.

"Oh, there's room for orthodoxy, certainly, though you are correct in that there's much to be gained from stepping outside it. But as to what I would ask: I recall something about another play; is there still motion to that end?"

Sara smiled, placing the tea cup down, putting her elbow on the table and her face in her hand. "Oh? You mean Red Wedding?" She spoke low and slow, all of her interest seemed to focus on him.
