"Maybe so." Myo-en looks torn between amusement and gravity for a moment. "An abbess may tell the truth to more people than a nun, I think. Or at least more people might listen."

Kayou laughs. "That is true, you are suppose to reveal it through paradoxical riddles, ne?"

"Or something like that, yes." Laughter lingers in Myo-en's voice. She glances around the lovely Crane meeting room, slowly emptying of courtiers. "Where will you stay in Nikesake, Kayou-sensei? My Clan has a house here, so I think I will spare the temples one guest and guard my clanswomen. If you can't find a place..."

Though really, how likely is it that any temple in former Phoenix lands would turn away the Empire's most famous Super Nun?

"Domo arigato, Myo-en-san," says Kayou. "This one has been given quarters at the Twin Shrines. But she appreciates the kind offer."

"If you have not visited, you should, it houses one of the few Shrines to the Kami of Redemption, whose aid is sorely needed in these time."

"In the fall I paid one visit, on the way through Nikesake. There was not enough time to linger. Snow was coming early, and we had to reach Toshi no Omoidoso." Myo-en shrugs slightly. "I would like to see them properly, instead of in haste. If the enemy army allows."

Kayou nods. "This one would like us to be too busy with festivals and good harvests for a change."
