EVENT: Repentance (D8, Early Afternoon)

Something reflects the dim light as Izumi kneels down and removes a wrapped object from her traveling pack. "We're running out of time..."

She stands, a small mirror held in her hands. As soon as the light catches it, the air around the group seems to distort and twist. The ground is replaced with mounds of corpses, and the rain falling from the heavens has the color and consistency of blood.

Izumi utters a prayer over the mirror, and instantly, feelings of uncontrolled rage, anger, and bloodlust well up in the samurai around her.

(Every character in the thread other than Izumi gains +2k2 to their melee damage rolls for 5 rounds.)

Suddenly everything got a lot more angry. Homura felt it, and it made her grip her blade harder.

"You can fucking die now spirit."

She spun back at the spirit that tried to stroke her last round with a hard swing of her blade, trying to slice it in two.

It's debatable if the extra ANGER suffusing Kinuko was helping, as it wasn't making her any more accurate.

But then again, that may be because she's just not fully accepting of it.

Chiyo, having taken a moment, realized she needed to shift to the offensive. She had fought a naga down before. She had wrestled Jama Suru TO THE GROUND.

She was a Kitsu and her ancestors had fought with their CLAWS.

With a bestial roar, she launched herself at the nearest spirit, lashing out with the fury of her blood and striking with her fists, open palmed. They were shockingly effective.

Their numbers weakened, the spirits spread out and attack whatever weak points they can find, still seeking to reach the mirror. Their ghostly blades fail to find significant purchase, however, only dealing glancing wounds.
