A hint of a smile crossed her face as the Lion ignored Koushi in favour of her. "Please do."

She was ready for them and easily deflected their blades. Calmly she shifted her feet and sacrificed some of her own protection to deal the ambassador's killer a devastating cut.

The Lion stumbles backwards, a huge wound in his chest and bleeding out into the rain. He grabs his wound, breathing heavily, and then roars as he charges forward, katana held high. The attack was clumsy and easily blocked.

The second samurai, however, roars as he lunges forward and slashes through the rain, catching her in the side and spilling more Crane blood into the street.

(Tetsuko suffers 23 damage.)

Koushi's blade slices out toward one of the Lions, but the man brings his blade up at the last moment, deflecting the attack.

Tetsuko was barely even aware of the Lion's strike. She shifted back into a more defensive posture to prevent the two Lion from reaching Koushi. Hopefully the fortunes would smile on him again shortly.

The wounded Lion makes another awkward attempted to cut Tetsuko, without much luck.

The other Lion similarly fails, their attacks unable to penetrate the Iron Crane's defenses.

As Koushi dealt a killing blow to the murderous leader Tetsuko nodded to the remaining Lion guard. "You die with honour."

Calmly and with precision she stepped inside his guard and dealt a clean cut. She retained the positional training that kept her close enough to the Doji to protect him from any further assailants.

The Lion nearly drops from the blow, but he pulls himself back to his feet, staggering in the rain. With a grunt, he raises his sword above his head. "A... kodo!" he pants, before stumbling forward and awkwardly swinging at Tetsuko.

The second Lion collapses to the ground, his blood mixing with rainwater to paint the cobblestones red.

As he finishes bleeding out, more and more people gather around the impromptu battlefield, watching with horrified expressions muted by the falling rain.

Doji Koushi looked calmly from the Lion on the ground.

"I have slain the killer of the ambassador. I, Doji Koushi, who have outlived my lord."

He turned to face Kogokyu.

"This man claimed that my ambassador was a criminal, and I have killed him for it. In that sense, honor is served. Do you maintain that he spoke true?"

Monkhbaatar exited the embassy where he had placed the corpse of Airi. He walked to where his kimono lay on the ground and allowed the rain to wash her blood from his body. He had a blank expression.

Tetsuko flicked the blood from her blade and returned it to its saya. She bowed to the bodies of the Lion and then looked to Koushi, Monkhbataar, and the others. They had a message to deliver but she waited to see whether they were going to have to fight every Lion on the way, or if sense would prevail.

Before the magistrate could have changed the situation, it was over. Her sword, however, was out.

"You've killed Lion guards on duty in a Lion city, while transgressing Lion laws. You will now stand down, be arrested, and face consequences of your crimes." She uttered with restrained anger. "Or I'll make you, Lady Matsu help me."
