Kanade searched through the available scrolls on the breeding of animals. Her previous search had been fruitless, but perhaps as this was a center of knowledge and debate maybe there would be something of use.

Perhaps reading might be nice.

Not that Kitamaru would voice such wants.

The Shosuro silently stalked small shelves of scrolls, flute twirling expertly among deft fingers as they slinked through.

The girl fiddling through knowledge was noted, but frustrated women were not to be approached lightly, and the Scorpion did not seem to be noticed yet.

Kanade sighed and forfeited. Today there was nothing to be learned. Perhaps, all the events of the day made concentration too difficult. She went to stand and blinked as she thought she saw a bit of red.

Is that a Scorpion? She let her hand fall by her side, near her scroll pouch as it were, and slowly walked near where she had seen the flash of color. She didn't want trouble and there was no reason the Scorpion weren't allowed to read, after all.

Perhaps, she really was just tired. "Ano...greetings, Scorpion-san. A nice evening, is it not?" She let her voice carry clearly, not entirely sure of what she saw.

A great clatter could be heard somewhere it appeared that some inept samurai had knocked over a pile of rolled up scrolls. Some of which where currently rolling and bouncing down a corridor. Followed swiftly by a flustered samurai in black and red kimono.

"Gomen! Gomen!" He said softly but emphatically as he hunted down the troublesome evidence of his apparent clumsiness.

The girl had called out, but was answered by another.

Kitamaru kept out of sight of them both for then, looking to learn something. That is the use of this room, was it not?

Kanade approached the clumsy Samurai, eyes narrowing for a second. Was it that color? She shook it off, though dreams of being surrounded by Scorpion men and women may plague her later.

"Excuse me, but if I may, would you like a hand with that Scorpion-San? This one is Kanade." She introduced herself briefly and without waiting for a response began to stood to help pick up fallen scrolls.

Her thin silk yukata, clung to her as she did revealing she had spent quite a bit of time outside today. At least she wasn't dripping wet, but had clearly not dried and warmed up.

Chen gulped a little when he looked up at the mantis woman and then shook his head slightly "Oh thank you Kanade-San, I apologize if I disturbed you, I always seem to cause a scene." He said with a small chuckle at his misfortune.

He set the scrolls somewhere stable and slowly backed away watching them for a second as he did so as if to tell them to stay where they were. He then let out a breath of relief and turned back to Kanade giving a proper bow "Thank you again Kanade-San, your help was not necesarry but much appreciated. This one is Bayishi Chen, a pleasure to meet you." His voice was somewhat energetic and he smiled as he spoke.

"No, it is alright, Bayushi-san. This one was already frustrated on her own account." She laughed a little ruefully. Something about the way he spoke and acted was kind of endearing to Kanade. She bowed low, a slight color flushing itself across her cheeks."The pleasure is mine."

The Shosuro did not know what was to be found in these scrolls, but he pulled several, musing on the calligraphy at first.

Overhearing the others, Kitamaru eventually rolled them up and took them along.

The girl was indeed a girl, down to every line of her silk draped form.

A bow to Chen first.

"Bayushi-sama." It was likely the clearest he'd spoken all day, it sounded obedient.

A bow followed.

"My lady." A fox mask's eyes watched them both, betraying nothing. "I am Shosuro Kitamaru."

He raised an eyebrow "Oh? and what vexes you so Kanade-san? have you chosen an elusive topic of study? or simply one that bores you too much? I was never too much for reading and study myself honestly."

He jumped slightly eyes widening in surprise at the sudden appearance of the other scorpion "Oh Shosuro-san!? Hello, such an honorific is unnecessary to address me, Bayushi-sama is my father." he said with a little chuckle "Please Chen-san will be fine or at least just the use of san if chosen names are too informal for you." he finished with an easy smile

I really am surrounded by Scorpion men! Kanade thinks she might have read a few pillow books about that once.

"I am in search of information, but alas I can't find anything on breeding." She clarified, "dog breeding specifically though I figured even information related cats, birds, or so on might help some but I can't find anything!"

"Well met, Shosuro-san, this one is Kanade." She bowed in introduction at the other Scorpion looking around to see if more would appear.

"Dogs", Kitamaru repeated.

The Shosuro places several scrolls before Kanade. Looking at them carefully, one is eventually selected.

"Well Shosuro-san is quite helpful it seems, much more so than myself. Good luck on your hunt, breeding is such an interesting topic." he finished with another smile that had just a touch of slyness to it, and perhaps a quick flicker of his eyes at the silk clad form before him as he bowed to her. "Perhaps sometime you can tell me about what your research turns up ?" he offers

He turned to Kitamaru "You are a man of few words Shosuro-san, it is said a man who speaks little thinks much. Do you think thats true?" he asked settling down into the situation.

Thinking too much was simply hesitation made fanciful. Not that Kitamaru believed it needed saying.

Chen sighs a little "Do you say more than one word at a time Shosuro-san?" He found the prospect of carrying on a conversation with a monosyllabic partner a touch difficult.

The pause was too long. Though the Shosuro did continue, perhaps with a smile hidden beneath the mask.

"Though dwelling of the mind is wasteful. Don't you agree a focus of duty to be proper?"

Chen broke out in a wide smile "Ahah! I knew you could do it!" He exclaimed a bit louder than their current venue would find appropriate. He winced a bit and caught himself, turning to Kanade and saying much quieter "gomen Kanade-san"

Turning back to Kitamaru he cleared his throat "but yes given our shared clan I understand the focus on duty above all else."
