Horonigai colors her cheeks and burrows eyebrows at him. She holds her injured arm with the other hand, and takes it back in a defensive reflex.

The Seppun's eyes nearly sparkle up in a lightning bolt aimed at Koushi while her mind runs loose.

Koushi laughs. "Not with the sword, Seppun-sama. Sometimes medical procedures require removing damaged flesh to heal the rest. Or to treat disease, sometimes one must open the patient. But it isn't all the time, and certainly not with the little scratch I gave you."

Turning back to the Seppun, he smiles and gestures toward her cut. "Would you like to have that bandaged? I left my medical bag with the sandals."

The Shosuro stayed still as a statue.

There was no apparent surveillance or comment of the moment between the Handsome Doji Doctor and Doe Eyed Imperial Maiden.

Yet He'd read enough pillow books to know where this might go.

Kitamaru stayed still as a statue, but knew where his blade was, always.

Kitamaru placed his hands on the dojo floor and bowed his head by way of apology. It wasn't his place to tell a Seppun or Doji what they should do, he would rely on their pedigrees to see them through and not cause the dojo shame.

For a Lion sensei would like as not show such deference.

She doesn't actually shout, but it nearly got there.

Horonigai bows, providing a grunted farewell, and turns around to leave.

Kitamaru remained lowered until the Seppun departed.

He stayed like that for a while, to the point that the Koushi might think he threw his back out and was stuck.

Eventually the Shosuro sat up. If the Doji remained, he would receive a nod.

Upon rising, he responded to the Shosuro with a nod of his own.

Doji Koushi nodded slowly. As the former Designated Physician of the Crane Delegation to His Imperial Majesty's Winter Court, he had an inkling of what that might mean. After all, a healer knew best how to harm. Still...best not to assume.

"Ah, then you must have steady hands. I had the pleasure of meeting Shosuro Kitani at Kyuden Doji two years ago, and was very impressed with her technique for treating slipped discs."

Another short moment passed, perhaps the Shosuro was thinking.

"Sensei spoke of Shosuro-sama, I did not meet them. Do they remain well?"

"I believe so. Our correspondence is not regular, but the last I heard she was attached to the governor's staff at Crossed Pincers City. May I inquire as to your position?"
