Having had a bite to eat and a bath, Yukarin made herself presentable then went off to try to find how she could help. Not on the ground in small ways; She knew she had talents that could be put to use in situations like these, and she would feel remiss if she didn't use them. If she got the chance that is.

She knew the Lion must be busy with so many arriving, samurai and peasant alike, but as she went to announce herself and that she wished to speak to someone about supplies and organizing refugees, she hoped that they wouldn't be too busy to talk for a moment.

Yukarin is directed to the city's quartermaster, Ikoma Sadao, a Lion samurai with salt-and-pepper hair and a patch over his left eye. She finds him in the storeroom with a group of heimin, taking count of the castle's food supplies.

Upon entering, Yukarin bows very low and holds it as she introduces herself, "Ikoma-sama; This one is Yasuki Yukarin, recently arrived from Toshi no Omoidoso. I have come to inquire if there is anything the Crab, and the Yasuki in the city more precisely, can assist you with."

She would elaborate more, but it was best to not go on too long, if the Ikoma did not have time for more than brief words.

The Ikoma snorts, not even looking up from his paperwork. "Got a few hundred pounds of rice stored away somewhere, Yasuki-san? Couple hundred yari? Maybe a few crates of arrows?"

Yukarin looks up, straightening herself, "I suppose any hope of getting anything in from outside the city is slim to none then?"

He makes a vague gesture to the west. "You want to hop on a horse and ride out to Toshi Ranbo and ask Seppun Kato for supplies, be my guest. I'll write up a list for you and everything."

Her head tilted slightly, "What's the journey like normally between here and there?"

"Normally?" He glances her way, looking her up and down. "Normally, it's calm and boring. Honored Treaty City is roughly halfway there. Serves as a meeting point for Emerald Magistrates, so bandits generally give it a wide berth."

"Pardon, but I meant travel time wise, Ikoma-sama. I've not been in the Empire long enough to know relative distaces between many important landmarks and cities yet."

"Ahh. Roughly a week there, week back, I would say. Less so if you have a fast horse, though that won't do you much good on the return trip."

He turns back to his work. "This will likely be over by then, one way or another."

She held back a small sigh and simply nodded instead, "Indeed. Well, if nothing else, I am an expert at figures and organization. So if that sort of thing would help at all with distribution of supplies or people, I am at your service, of course."

"Duly noted, Yasuki-san." He turns away from her and stalks up to a heimin to show him the proper way to stack crates.

Yukarin frowns a tiny bit after the man turns away but not long; Honestly, this was about as good as she could have hoped for in a chaotic situation like this, in Lion lands no less. If they wanted help, they would know where to find her now...
