"That would be unfortunate. Unless there was some other greater spirit who can control them like the Steel Chrysanthemum, they will at best break up into smaller groups. Regardless, they will return to the slaughter. If not each other then us. One cannot just cast off the control of a spiritual realm. Not without the intervention of the Heavens.

"The only long term solutions I see is return them to Toshigoku. Send them off somewhere and let others, either the Shadowlands or maybe gaijin like the ones who gave the Badger trouble, or maybe the Unicorn know of somewhere far enough and terrible enough to leave them. Or discover some way to bind them."

Tamaki bows. "This is my life's work. Anything I can do for the Empire will be worth it." Tamaki is somewhat hearten by the lack of response to binding the Toshigoku spirits. She may have stopped that research a while ago, she was concerned the Inquistors would have some questions about it.

"She intends to use the mirror to close the portal, she has a plan of sorts and is utilizing her Lion resources to accomplish this. I offered our aid but I doubt she will take it. The death of the Emperor has hit her hard I suppose, and now she seems willing to fix this mess, a shame it came to this.”

He added, “The mirror is a powerful relic, and it most likely needs a shugenja to utilize it properly. Without a closer look, I can’t provide a more in depth analysis.”

Tamaki considers. "We should shugenjas and bushi there. Maybe far out. Just in case it does not go according to plan." Tamaki shrugs. "Even if she does not want our help, it is still our land. Maybe plant some with her as a sort of honor guard? After all, she is the Kitsu daimyo and would be visiting."

Tamaki ponders. "The Council is dead. It is possible she will go before a new one is formed. Maybe an Inquisitor or two? The Inquisitors protect the Empire from spiritual threats. Having such accompany a daimyo to ensure she does not get waylaid by a stray Toshigoku spirit cannot be taken as an insult, I think." Tamaki says it in a way to allow Kashi to decide if she is suggesting him or for him to contact other Inquisitors. She then shrugs. "At least as much as anything cannot be taken as insult by a Lion."

Tamaki was glad to help. Especially if it kept Phoenix near the Mirror, just in case something happened and the Lion were not able to return to their lands. After all, they are dealing with dangerous magic.

"Beyond that. I do not think I have much to discuss that isn't in my notes." Well Tamaki thought. She wasn't 100% sure what was in those notes and what were in her notes back home.

Tamaki nods. To say the least. "I aided Isawa Teikuu in creating a neumari. I do not know if I could repeat such a feat, but I do intend to try. Specifically, one that will aid us in the war against the slaughter spirits."
