11th day of the Month of the Hare, 759

After three and a half days of traveling westward through heavy, freezing rain, those retreating from Toshi no Omoidoso finally reach the city of Nikesake in the Early Morning.

The rain continues through the day and into the night. Thunder rumbles overhead at periodic intervals, and those spending time staring up into the storm might catch a fleeting glimpse of a sinuous form moving amidst the clouds.
