"It is quite difficult. There are certain things that can't quite be said without their physiology. Physical movements have as much to do with speaking Naga as do words. I tend to avoid speaking it to avoid misunderstandings and many of them understand our language."

Kayou nods. "This one suspects they have equal trouble with our traditions on occasion. It is difficult to build trust and understanding between two cultures so different from each other."

"They seem to be more adaptive and accepting of our culture than the other way around in my experience. There will always be a certain level of tension, I suspect, but the Naga have a much older culture as well. A good number of them likely view ours as quaint with how long theirs has been around."

"We must seek to learn from them, and teach them, to avoid further conflicts," says Kayou. "Broadly, we both seem to seek the same sort of world."

"Undoubtedly. We both seek a world free from the evil of the south. It is a common enemy. I suspect their thoughts on this current group of interlopers from Toshigoku would tend towards extermination as well. Though as an empire we're likely not all in complete agreement on that, I would guess that any who have come in contact are."

"Their knowledge could be invaluable," says Kayou. "Though they have a very different cosmology from us. They do not exist on the Khamic Wheel as we do. Though they are creatures with a strong moral code. It is very perplexing."

"From the view of the universe, morality is flexible. The closer a being is to ourselves, the stronger the comparison in moral beliefs. It is a good indicator of how much more alike we are to the Naga than most believe. Unlike animals or spirits that act without morality or with a morality too foreign for us to understand," Kin replies with a shrug.

"That is why I enjoy the law. Morality has a strong hand in writing them, but less so when enforcing them. And studying the law of the Naga allows me to see how the morals of their people influence the way they make decisions."
