A few moments ago, she had sought peace within but now she must deal with the chaos without. This chaos was far uglier than anything she could imagine and easily twice as deadly.
Was it so wise to meditate prior to battle? That was something she asked herself as she felt her muscle begin to feel a bit jittery, she didn't know if that was supposed to be nervousness or that her muscles had atrophied somewhat after her mind had been taken away by a cloud. She had been to a faraway place, even if that was in her thoughts. Now she was standing in the frontlines and a horde of crystalized chaos was charging at them.
How does one prepare for battle? Why couldn't it just happen? Just action and no more time for thoughts! She thought to herself as her heart started to be faster in her chest. It was coming and going to happen soon, although she didn't know if that knowledge brought her any favours. She was anxious and bit her lip as her throat became dry from the anticipation alone.
For better or worse, her wish did eventually come to fruition when a squad of ashigaru came rushing at her with wild abandon. They were in attack formation before but quickly fragmented as they charged toward the enemy, attacking whoever was close by like a predator that was drawn to blood and shedding it. Wasako drew her sword with one hand and held it above her head while holding concentrated focus with the other hand forward. She quickly spun away as a yari came thrusting toward her and narrowly missed her waist. Finding her opportunity, she grabbed onto the spear and swung her sword across the throat of the bearer to send him tumbling down.
"
Yaaaaargh!" screamed another ashigaru that charged toward her with yari at hand, caked in the blood of some unfortunate guard she had managed to practically
gore from her previous fight.
She quick backpedalled as the spear came right for her and she managed to slap it away before it could connect. The ashigaru staggered back as she found herself stunned by the move but before she could collect herself, Wasako came running back with fluttering sleeves and her sword forward. Her sword found its mark and she drove it right into the ashigaru's chest to dispatch her in quick order.
Wasako pulled her sword back and gave it a sharp flick, going back to her ready stance as she caught her breath. She wasn't feeling nervous anymore and her nerves became firm. It was all distasteful violence but she had to admit it felt...envigorating.
