Despite the new year, the lands surrounding Toshi no Omoidoso are still blanketed in snow, though less so than a few weeks prior. The sun is bright and the day is briskly chilly, warming up a bit as the day progresses. As night falls, the temperatures dip once more, leading to a cold night.

With the day comes the arrival of refugees along the eastern road leading to Morikage Toshi. Many of them are cold, shivering, and frostbitten, having traveled for days to escape the chaos surrounding the Emperor's assassination.
