Seitouna has been frantically taking reports through much of the day. As the evening draws on, though, he finds himself hungry, his wrist sore, and recalling that he was to have company.

A samurai-ko dressed in Tortoise colors scratched on his door, a smile playing on her lips.

Seitouna looks up, sees "Sakura," and fails to recognize her earlier identity. But he does not fail to be polite, rising with a short bow and saying "Cousin, do come in."

He adds ""I am glad to see you are well", his language shifting.

As sara entered, she started shedding her identity, pulling out the turthleshell comb from her hair, her vacant expression turning into something more familiar.

"Eh, Kasuga-san? What kind of sailor talk s that?"

Seitouna laughs.

"I can see why your skills as a thespian are so much in demand, Shosuro-san! Do come in and be at ease!"

Sara came in and loosened the Tortoise kimono. "Well, I hope you are my number one fan then, Kasuga-san."

She smiled and moved closer. "Now, I am quite curious how a Tortoise hosts a guest. What exotic vintages I can expect..."

"Alas, we are restricted to what can be had here, given all of what has been going on. Still, there does seem to be a fair bit of Phoenix-made stuff in store, so far as all that goes."

And, as if planned, there is a scratching at the door and the sound of retreating feet. Age tofu, rice, pickled vegetables, and a peppery sauce are on a tray, as well as sake and cups. It seems an attentive staff is on hand.

Sara smiled. "I guess I cannot fault you for that, though you will have to work hard to get rid of my disappointment." She pouted at him, and watched the tray with interest.

"You often spend night at such places?"

"It's a pleasant enough place, certainly," he says as he brings the tray in and pours for them both.

"But these are unusual times; the regular matters would seem not to apply."

Sara gracefully accepted the offering. "Arigatou Kasuga-san. Certainly, these times are highly unusual. What do you make of them, may I ask?"

"You may, of course, my dear," he replies. "There is peril, of course, as cannot help but be true with, well," and he waves a hand to suggest out there. "But this could be a time for those who act second to make much of themselves. We who remain have more room, perhaps, even as we must mourn those who have gone before."

And at that, he raises his cup.

"To the valiant dead."

Sara raised her cup in unison with his.

"To the valiant dead."

She took a sip and fell in thought. "So many claimants, so many opinions, so many stands....what do you make of the news from Seppun Kato, Kasuga-san?"

Seitouna pulls from his own cup, settles back.

"I have no doubt the shisha relayed the message clearly and accurately. But I would not venture to guess what is in the minds of the mighty, though I note some parallels to, shall we say, tense situations among their lessers, and they never end well for those involved."

He shakes his head.

"I am surprised to see less antagonism from the Matsu, honestly. It argues poorly for them that such is said in such a way."

Sara smiled and took another sip. "Everyone is in a precarious position. I feel at this point truth and certainly were the first casualties of the war, just before the poor departed Son of Heaven, may Tengoku welcome him with open arms."

She placed her cup down and look into the Tortoise eyes. "I wonder what the Minor clans are making of the situation at the moment."

Seitouna also sets his cup aside for the moment.

"I could not speak for others, of course, and there are few enough of us about, but I know that Suzume-shoi continues to speak in support of the child of Hantei XXII. And for my part, well, things had been going well for the Tortoise, and I see no reason to rock a boat that rides well in the water."

He raises an eyebrow.

"And what of your own people, my dear?"

"So not rocking the boat is the Matsu Empress, neh?" She tilted her head in curiosity, before shrugging.

"As you can expect, the news of our Champion's sister marrying Seppun Kato caused a bit of a stir."

Sara smirked. "Your boatspeak is quite mysterious for one who knows so little of such an important subject Kasuga-san" She bowed slightly. "Is there where you learned knotwork?"

"Every craft, every art, has its own language, Shosuro-san. Those who study not theatre would be as perplexed by your language of craft.

"But, yes, it was aboard ship that I learned knot-work. Things must move at times and remain in place at others, and it is with ropes cunningly tied that they are allowed both."

He smiles, sips at his sake. "And that had been one of the things you had wanted to discuss, as I recall. Makes the Kasuga entrance all the more apt." He inclines his head to her.
