The Miya takes a deep breath and continues.
"There is a truth known to Seppun Kato that he kept quiet, out of respect for his brother, but in these trying times, the truth is more important than ever before. And so, he now seeks to share the truth with the people of Rokugan, no matter how it pains him, and no matter how much it may pain his fellow samurai to hear it. This is not an easy truth, nor is it polite, but it is
important.
The Miya pauses, the color draining out of his face as he reads ahead. Still, he knew his duty, and after taking a moment to compose himself, he continues.
"The truth is as follows: The child of the Empress, the supposed Imperial Heir, is not the son of Seppun Kato's brother, Hantei XXII. It is rather the son of Akodo Tamotsu, a frequent guest of the Empress in her private quarters. The truth was kept secret from the Empire in the name of the Empress' honor, but the time for such lies has passed. Seppun Kato cannot idly stand by and watch as the Lion seize control of the throne in such a dishonorable and underhanded way."
The Miya falls silent as he reads ahead, his expression growing more and more concerned with each passing line.
