This was the second time she'd been allowed into the Phoenix Embassy in her armour. It was a good thing they were the peace loving Clan really. However, the news she'd passed along at the front had thrilled everyone there so much nobody had minded. Maiya had her helmet under one arm as she walked briskly to Miwako's room. She tapped at the door wearing a cheerful smile. "Isawa-sama! It's Kaiu Maiya. I bring good news!" |

Come in she did. "Thank you! It's good to see you. Konnichiwa. I have good news!" She was all excited. "I was just on the Walls and cheers went up as the enemy army began to march away. They're heading South. The siege is over!" |

"You're really welcome! I wanted to tell you first as I knew you were worried. Your whole family is here too... oh, sorry, am I being too loud?" She asks, remembering them and covering her mouth with a gauntleted hand. |

"It is alright. She is with my husband." she smiled. "It is a relief to know we are safe. The cost was high, though. Higher than it should have been." |

"Oh good." Maiya nonetheless settled down a little. "A big relief, but hai, there was a cost. Still, I'm glad the enemy Commander didn't know siegecraft well. There was only one concerted attack and then they gave up." |

"They may no longer consider us a threat." she suggested. "They do have other objectives." She gave the Crab a fresh smile. "Regardless, this is a very good thing. Something worth celebrating." |

"And that's fine. They were always an opponent for the Lion armies or the Imperial Legions." Maiya returned the smile and nodded. "Indeed! Actually, I brought something." She crouched down after saying that and set done her helmet. She then worked to get a travel pack undone and off her back. That was set down so it could be opened. From within she took out a big bottle of Crab sake. Looking up to Miwako she grinned. "Great Forge Earthen Blessing Sake! This is the last bottle I have left from my home town." Maiya presented the bottle for Miwako to read the label as she got up. "It's only a small brewery, and it's not the most refined, but it's very smooth and it goes well with anything." |

"To be honest, this has been a trying and stressful experience." she admitted. "I am very relieved that it is ending. However, part of me wants to see it through to the end, to be there when the spirits are defeated." She spoke quickly and quietly with a servant and sent them towards the kitchen. |

Meanwhile Maiya remained standing there. It was quite normal for her unless she was directed to do otherwise. "I'm relieved too. With how brutal the enemy are it wouldn't have been pleasant if any broke into the City. Not nice at all. Still! We can celebrate now, ne?" Some cheer seeped into her voice at the end. "I haven't used your blessing yet. If some of the defenders here are pursuing the enemy I might come." |

"Hai. Amaya-san and I will need to report back. We'll likely escort the Crab courtiers in the City back to Crab lands, if that is where they are headed. A few samurai mentioned pursuing the enemy, but after that, hai... I will need to return." The Kaiu didn't exactly sound thrilled about it. More resigned to the fact. |
