It had been several days since they had last spoken, but it seemed like as good a time as any to seek out the most renowned Dragon in the city. They had been killing foolish stragglers a few hours ago. Perhaps now was a good time for tea? Armed with a determined demeanor and years of Daidoji training, Tetsuko arrived at Friendship Street and began her search for Togashi Iko. The Dragon Embassy seemed an appropriate place to begin. |

Despite the retreat of the Steel Army, Iko had had a busy day. Two shifts of guard duty this afternoon, then she had been called upon to do her duty again, dispatching wounded warriors. Now she was winding down before bed when a Daidoji came a-calling. "Daidoji-san. I trust the evening treats you as well as can be expected? You look like you come with purpose, how may we assist you?" |

A twitch of a smile disappeared as soon as it arrived. She bowed respectfully. "Actually Togashi-sama, I was hoping you might have time for conversation. I did not expect to find you so quickly, perhaps the fortunes are with me today?" A glance around at the Embassy revealed a very different design and decorative style to the Crane's. It seemed minimalist, but with hidden charms. |

"Well, you find me freshly cleansed by purification rites after recent duties. I have time and space." Iko offers a bow to Tetsuko and gestures her to an unused room. "I'm not sure who the Fortunes are favoring recently, but perhaps we can figure that out together." |

"I am glad that I have come at the right time, thank you Togashi-sama." She bowed and followed. There was a scent of jasmine tea and cherry blossom, Tetsuko had clearly bathed before making her trip. "It does seem that we are some of the few who do not fit the, ah fashionable, way of thinking about the current situation. Though it has not been an easy path for this one." |

"Nor for I." Iko freely admitted. "But if the path we walked were easy well anyone could do it." The scents wafting from Tetsuko were pleasant and abundant, and lulled Iko into a more talkative mood. "Even were your timing less than perfect, Daidoji-san, I'd like to hope I haven't forgotten that much of my training asmongst the Crane to tell you so." She jested lightly as she sent one of the few available servants for some light evening snacks. |

An attractive smile lit up her face for a few moments in response. "I see the wisdom of the Dragon blends well with the courtesy of the Crane, Togashi-sama." It was comforting to know that Iko had not lost touch with her origins. "It has been a difficult time, yes. But we are samurai." Her eyes met Iko's for a brief moment. "It seems we are walking a similar path. The company is welcome." |

Tetsuko's smile was contagious, and Iko tucked her long, loose hair behind her ear as she smiled as well. "Shinsei says, there are many paths but one destination. I am honored to find such pleasant company along this path." Assuming her seat, she starts to prepare the tea. "I must commend you on your speaking skills Daidoji-san. That you have not swayed others to your point of view is truly surprising." |

"Thank you Togashi-sama, but I am a bushi of little consequence in the order of things. It is easy to dismiss uncomfortable questions when they come from such a source." She frowned a little. "I can understand their position. It is easier to assume that one knows the will of Heaven. Still, I find the assumption that a Matsu Empress will bring peace to Empire...questionable at best." |
