"Maybe late this evening should we all survive and hold the walls Kakita-sama. For now, I want to learn more about this things." She pointed to the dead corpses of the tsuno and the blades they had left behind.

"Look after yourself."

"We will come." Amaya voices her agreement, ignoring any doubt of their survival. It will either be true, or they will have their meeting in a different Realm.

She too turns towards the remains of the beasts they had all felled together. Now is a good time to try and figure out what these things could have been, but nothing really jumps to mind.

"Keep back mina-san!" Maiya instructs the gathering crowd. "They could still be dangerous." Some might even have believed the woman holding the head of one of the dead creatures.

Bending down beside the one she'd killed she takes off one of the jade fingers around her neck and taps it against the body. Is it tainted?

She did the same to one of their dropped blades, watching the jade carefully for any sign of corruption.

While Amaya helps her cousin with the blades, she eyes the corpses thoughtfully. It takes her not long to come to a conclusion though.

"Maiya." She rarely speaks up unprompted and her tone is serious.

"These are not the troops of a leader waging war to reclaim a birthright."

She gives the inhuman remains a frown.

"They are more like the rabid dogs of a bandit leader sent out into a nearby village, because it is a convenient way to feed their hunger."

"Hai?" She looked up to her cousin seriously. Amaya rarely called her without a nickname or honorific.

At her cousin's words she looked to the creatures and remembered how they were in combat. It was a bit hazy. She definitely remembered them cutting down two peasants. Glancing over up over their bodies she could see the peasant corpses.

"Probably true, but we don't know if they were summoned by the enemy or brought about because of something else. They're all tied to Toshigoku. It could all be connected."

She waved her hand to catch Amaya's attention before tapping a corpse and then a blade with her jade. It didn't react.

"I don't know what these things are, but they're not tainted. Neither are their weapons. I've not seen anything like them before. We should have them looked at by a priest."

With the dangerous looking heavy swords collected Maiya leaves the area. Her first destination after alerting the eta is the inn so she can store the tsuno head as a trophy.
