In the early hours, members of the embassy guard had quietly alerted the others as to a breakfast that Masahiko had arranged. When they arrived, there were the customary breakfast vittles and the giant just as expected, but the air was charged with palpable excitement. A folded letter sat in front of him.

Monkhbaatar arrived and bowed in greeting, getting a bit of food and water for himself. He didn't know why people were being gathered but he was always good with breakfast.

"Good morning Kakita-san."

Tetsuko was there too this morning and approached the others with a deep bow. "Good morning cousins, I trust you are well despite the circumstances?"

Collecting some food she joined them and smiled politely. "I hear you have been fighting nefarious beasts Kakita-San. Is this true?"

The giant returned the bow with his customary smile and enthusiastic demonstration of high regard.

"Hai, Daidoji-sama. The beasts called Tsuno came out of a portal above Friendship Street. Fortunately, there was a pair of Kaiu nearby and a Scorpion priestess, and together we were able to end the threat without too much mayhem. Well, without too much wholesome Crab-based mayhem, I should say."

Masahiko blushed. "Ah...well...that's...pretty great. Thank you, Asahina-sama." He bobbed his head in gratitude.

"Um...well, now that everyone's here, please, come sit down and let's eat. I have some good news."

With a bow to the Asahina she smiled at the Kakita's seeming embarrassment. A sip of her tea and all seemed well.

"Good news in these chaotic times would be as a fresh breeze. Please Kakita-san, what have you discovered?"

Masahiko smiled. "It is not I so much as the Lion. This is a message from Akodo Touki. Apparently, contacts of Matsu Erina have positive confirmation that Lord Doji is alive and operating in the rear of the enemy. These contacts have encountered enemy scouts out looking for him, but they believe they have some idea of where he might be."

His expression was ecstatic.

"That really is wonderful news Kakita-san, thank you for calling us together." She had fought alongside Touki, he seemed a good man. The Matsu was not familiar to her.

"If they have been striking the army from behind, perhaps we can reach them?"

Masahiko nodded. "That is the idea. Touki has arranged for me to meet with Kitsu Izumi to see if she can help narrow the search with the water kami, but the expectation is that we will head out as soon as an opportunity presents itself."
