She felt it when she woke up. The water kami surged around the city, no longer restrained by the corruption that had imbalanced the elements. It was a joyous sensation.

But, Miwako felt the loss, as well. The water kami were, everywhere, but she had lost her connection to them. She still felt closer to water than every other element, but the connection was nowhere near as strong. Her spells would not be as strong as they once were.

The Phoenix entered the temple and offered her morning prayers. Staring up at the representation of water, a tear rolled down her cheek.

"Thank you."

Wasako was surprised to be greeted by icy rain in the morning but that wasn't to say that she was unprepared to be dressed for the occasion. She made an appearance to the temple ground the morning dressed in a straw hat and cloak. There were a large number of smooth surfaces at the temple grounds and she did her best to avoid the worst of the icy patches as she went up the stairs. On her way up, there seemed to be a Phoenix who was...concentrating on the rain? She couldn't be too sure before approaching closer. "Ah...ohayou, Phoenix-san?"

"Ohayou, Dragon-sama!" The Iaawa managed a cheerful smile. "Have you had rice today?"

The upbeat greeting did manage to surprise her, however. She took a step back and smiled back. "Not yet, I was thinking of potentially after my visit here...Have you?"

After a pause, she remembered to introduce herself, "This one Mirumoto Wasako, from the Northern Wall Mountains."

"Ah, no." she shook her head. "As soon as I felt the rain, I came to the temple. I am Isawa Miwako. Perhaps we can share a meal together when we are finished here?"

On the other side of the Temple, a figure was slowly sweeping the floor. He seemed to be wearing a heavier than normal robe. He also kept looking at the entrance, and the pouring rain.

"It's a reason to visit the temple, I suppose..." she said questioningly at first although realizes that the temple was dedicated to the heavenly representatives first and foremost than the Fortunes. "I wouldn't mind going for a meal later. I suppose the rain might be an auspicious sign in itself? I wish it was at least a little warmer..."

"This rain is a blessing from the heavens." Miwako said with confidence. "I reassurance that the elements will remain a constant in uncertain times. The water kami are ready to respond to our prayers, to heal the wounded or wash away the enemy."

Her initial cheerfulness had diminished some, but she spoke with reverence and certainty.

Wasako held out a hand curiously at the subject, catching a few drops of icy rain on her hand. "Hm, I think I can take your word on that, Isawa-san. I know it would be a blessed sign in warmer months but I suppose such a gift from the heavens is always the case? Perhaps some hope for the future at the very least?"

"In general, yes." she nodded. "But, this is a special rain. One I hope will last a while."

She kept her hand out curiously a little longer, wondering about Miwako's meaning behind her words. "I hope this special rain can grant us and the refugees some respite at the very least."

After a pause, she gestures to the temple proper. "Hm, does Isawa perform her routines outside or inside of the temple?"

"Whichever suits the situation." she shrugged. "Water adapts. Shall we go inside?"

She nodded soundly at the proposal, although she was also ready to stay out if need be as she was dressed for the occasion. From what she could assume of the woman, it was more than likely she was a shugenja and she didn't know if she wanted to stay in her element so to speak.

"It also has a habit of getting everywhere too," she smirked as she made her way in and bowed at the figure she saw sweeping the floor, casting a curious gaze to see if it was an acquaintance of Miwako's.

"Hachi-sama, ohayou." She bowed. "I hope the rain hasn't caused to many issues."

Kayou finds a place that is out of the direct rain, yet she can still see the horizon. Even days in which the heavens are raging, Lady Sun must be welcomed, perhaps even more so on a day like this. She forgoes using her naginada, not wishing to expose the blade to all this rain, and instead uses dance and unarmed kata for her ritual this morning.

She senses that Lady Sun's blessings will be needed for her children today, so she lets the ritual run a little longer than usual to let the Goddess know that her followers beseech her aid.

As she promised, Mogami and her two budoka return to the temple and seek out Kayou. As she conducts her dance, the three of them all offer prayers to the different dragons. Mogami, the Air dragon. Tsuruga the Water, and Fuwa the Void.

Seeing another near the Water Dragon statue, Hachi gives him a moment to pray, then moves closer, and gives a short bow. "Do you require any assistance?"

While clearly not a monk, the scroll satchel and robes, rather than kimono, suggest this is a priest approaching the budoka.

The budoka looks to the man and shakes his head, bowing low.

"No, samurai-sama! Just praying as instructed. I thought water could help give strength if we fight today."

"Water provides strength, yes. However, it also provides the ability to adapt. It changes to fit each circumstance, and stretches as far as it can. Sometimes, that is not far, other times, it can stretch to the extent of the land. Never be afraid to trust in water. It will give you strength, adaptability, and the ability to move beyond what you might think." Another small bow was given.

Confused, the Budoka bows again.

"I just need to have the strength to do what Matsu-sama needs me to do. Battle soon. She says lots of enemies. Need to shoot with bow. Strength make bow easier to draw."
