Most of the cities Samurai were at or near the city's gate dealing with the large influx of samurai that had arrived today, fleeing before the wrath of the army behind them. Osamu could of been down there helping, honestly he could help from where he was right now.

He didn't though, these were the lands of those that looked down on his clan after all. He was among those that had made it so they weren't even allowed at the emperors court this season. Osamu had every intention thus to let them deal with the mess down below on their own.

Stopping before the shrine of the water dragon to offer a brief prayer, he then moved to a quiet corner of the shrine and began to meditate. Letting the peaceful nature of the shrine wash over him.

A monk swept a nearby path, paying no mind to anything.

Opening his eyes as he finished meditating, Osamu shifted his gaze towards the monk sweeping the paths nearby. "That seems a task that never ends." He offered after a thoughtful moment, though he was unsure if the man would even respond.

She doesn't look over, and her words sound a bit like a teacher speaking to pupil.

"A task that never ends, or a task that is never completed?"

"Just because a task doesn't seem to have an end, doesn't mean that it must not be fulfilled." Came another voice from nearby.

The lion samurai, turned around a nearby statue of one of the dragons. By its sinuous form it could be that of the water, or maybe the air, but Shukei was more inclined to think that it was the dragon of water by its shape that reminded him of the waves of the ocean.

The shugenja bowed to the priest in respect to one who serves the Tao with his body and soul. "It is an honor, brother." He too turned to the samurai, and bowed as well in almost a same level of respect, "it is also good to meet you as well. My name is Kitsu Shukei."

"A grand entrance filled with wisdom."

Kioka bows to the newcomer.

"This one is Kioka."

After hearing the words better, the shugenja understood, "I mean it is an honor, sister Kioka-san." He shortened the distance between them with calm steps while observing closely one and the other, especially the monk with respect and calmness. "Your words grace me more than they should. As a samurai it is our duty to understand Duty which has much to do with fulfilling tasks. Although I would like to think that my conclusion also includes a glimmer, a glimpse, of understanding of something higher."

She blinks at him.

"And do you think that?"

There is a softness to the expression on the lion, "If you, and others such as you, didn't continue your tasks, Kioka-san, then all of this would be covered in leaves, dirt; unclean. This holy place would be not worthy to hold the fortunes. In the same way, I perform my own tasks, so that my clan and my Empire are a safe place. My goal is to keep what the wise fortunes created as they intended it to be." His tone is calm and his words slowly phrased.

"Hmm." She looks thoughtful.

"Your duty is clear, then. That is good, at a time when loyalties might be tested."

The samurai bowed once more to the monk, but he had yet to hear the resolve of the one near him who he still knew nothing about. Looking past the monk, the samurai glanced at him with scrutinizing eyes. Was he just shy? opposite to his believes? Or maybe was just listening before talking about himself? The lion samurai could not even identify his clan by the colors, and had not seen any mon yet. His intense gaze was locked on the samurai, looking for any identification.
