Sara pulled out her comb from her hair, the last piece of clothing on her. She managed to quickly dump her things into the room that was allotted her in the castle when she learnt of the onsen. There was court later, and she was dirty, and cold, and angry. A warm bath would help. Despite the smell. She slowly lowered herself into the water, closing her eyes, and breathing through her mouth. Shallow breaths. |

The cold trek from the Imperial winter court had done a number on Kin. He now sat in one of the hot pools with a cup of hot tea in easy reach to thaw his frozen limbs. His eyes closed for a moment as he pictured the slaughter spirits killing those two children's parents, before shivering and opening them once more. |

Matsu Mogami exits the changing house with a towel wrapped around her and then two armed Budoka follow her. "Stand here and keep watch, but do not presume to say anything to anyone. We do not wish to insult the hosts here, and your presence could indicate I do not trust the host to adequately protect their guests. Perhaps after I am finished, I can find something to allow you to bath and clean yourself with somewhere else." The two Budoka bow and stand opposite of one another looking quite exhausted, but small features of contentment begin to cross into their face as the radiant heat of the onsen warms them. Once she gets to the waters, Mogami pauses for a moment and bows to the two present already. |

Kin offers a nod to the other two Samurai in greeting, but really doesn't know how to begin with the mess where he had come from. |

Sara slowly opened her eyes. People, great. "Minna-sama, greetings. Are you also visitors from the East?" She does not deign to do a proper bow, half-submerged as she is into the water, but gives a friendly wave. "Shosuro Sara, of Taishou Hikari acting troupe." Star of it. Almost. She was this close to it. |

"Yes, I've come from Morikage Toshi. I am known as Ryuuta Kin." It is a very formal tone, that sounds like there were some haunting feelings in him as well right now. |

Mogami waits for eyes to be averted before she drops her towel and enters into the warm waters. Her body is young, pale, and well toned without any visible markings. It is however clear she had been traveling as her features are marred by the grim of the ice and muck. "Matsu Mogami. Yes, I was to be an example to the Court of my schools excellence." She begins to rub some of the grim away from her. |

Sara let out a small snort. "That court was all supposed to be about excellence. Well, it wasn't." She let out a low moan, as she sunk further deep. Then she let out a noise of disgust. "Ugh, one tip. Breathe through the nose." She nodded towards where the Piranha's voice was coming from. "Same to you Ryuuta-san?" She was unsure if the Piranha was of higher rank, but come on, he was a Minor Clanner! "I hope you were not injured." |

Poor Budoka outside likely didn't know what to make of this one. The Shakanar slithered into the Onsen, his belongings having been folded and carefully put away in the dressing room. He gave a proper bow to those gathered, though he was quiet till he managed to curl up in one corner of the bath, taking up a good bit of room himself, tail included. He gave a sigh of contentment as the warmth sunk into him. "Minna-sama. I am known as The Shakanar." He went quiet again, just seeming to bask in the warmth. Maybe he was? Part snake after all. |

He wasn't one to get hung up on such things in private conversations, but he didn't want people to step on their own feet in public. There was no chiding in his voice, but he clarified by offering his position at the court so that the Shosuro would know. "An actress and, I'm guessing a tactician for you Matsu-san. Exemplars of the talents of your clans, undoubtedly. I was there to represent my clan and any legal concerns between the Empire and Tausha's Legion, as a magistrate of the Piranha. Not quite so glorious as the two of you, but I feel it was an important role to be filled, as did my lord Ryuuta-dono." |

The Budoka indeed are startled but as they were ordered, do not make any attempt to speak. They do however seem to go a little more rigid and a look of unease falls across their features. Mogami finishes her scrubbing and turns her attention to the conversation. "A good tip indeed, Shosuro-san." Seeing the Naga enter, Mogami looks at it with an intense gaze. "It is good you are here, Ryuuta-sama, it seems some of your charges have followed you." |

"A very important role Ryuuta-sama." Tsk, Sara-chan, good going. She should apologize in private sometime. She opened her eyes as the snake slithered into the water, and drew her legs back a bit. Who knew how long that tail was?! "Ohyao Naga-san." she stated simply, and withdrew. This was the Piranha's filed of expertise, after all. |

"Oh, Tausha's Legion are hardly our charges. They are a force, culture and people unto themselves. The region and relations with them are the true Piranha charge," he clarifies. "And The Shakanar is part of those people that is known to me," he gestures to the Naga. "I am glad to see you safe as well. He holds a similar role to me on, the opposite side of the line." |

He gave a slim smile, nodding his head. "It is good to see you here Ryuuta-sama. I have a feeling that calm heads will be needed in the days ahead." His eyes were half closed as he just let the steam and warmth work away the stress, and was doing an excellent job keeping his tail, all eight feet of it, to himself "I had been escorting The Saravya in visiting the Pheonix in search of knowledge. We were headed to the The Hantei's winter court to pay our respects when we learned of what had transpired while passing through town, and stayed in place to wait and see." |

Kanade entered the baths, pausing a second to blink at a somewhat familiar snake-man. Is that the one I met in Sparrow lands? Her eyes moved up and and down his length, somewhat stunned by his size. Bigger than I remember... Hesitantly, she lowered herself into the bath. "Greetings, minna-sama. This one is Kanade of the Mantis." |

"I've not seen The Saravya in just as long. I imagine you've been traveling together since we were all last in Siksa?" he queries. "Kanade-san, I hope you are doing well," he replies to the new arrival. He didn't recognize whether she had been at court or not. His mind still spun with images of brutality. |

Mogami gives a slight nod to Kanade and then returns to keeping her eyes on the Naga. When the conversation paused between Ryuuta and the snake, she said quite evenly, "I did not know the Son of Heaven, may his soul find peace in Yomi, was taking attendees from your people." |

"Ah, Kanade-san, ohyao. Shosuro Sara, Taishou Hikari acting troupe." She gave a shallow nod, and tried returning to relaxing. Shallow breaths... She thought of the Lion...well, they were mostly responsible for the quartering of their numbers. |

"This one had the pleasure of talking with The Hantei breifly during a sumo match a few years back. We were not to attend the winter court, but had wished to leave a gift and the well wishes of Tausha's Legion with the steward of the court, as we would be traveling through on our way home." He nodded to Kin "We had been gone from home for a time, seeking knowledge. I look forward to seeing what may have changed in our absence." A slight squint as he looked at Kanade. She looked familiar. "Kanade-san. Where you in attendance at the gathering that led up to the wedding of the now champion of the sparrow, approximately a hear and a half ago?" |
