If Erina thought there was chaos in the morning, it is dwarfed by the madness that evening. If anything, the boring task of census taking and herding people earlier in the day seems to pay some dividends as she attempts to get some degree of order in place as she tries to organize a caravan to carry supplies and belongings.

"Look, you can let your horse be a draft animal to pull supplies and have you and your things come with us, or you can stay here and live under seige where it will probably be eaten and you drafted into service. Which of the two, I really don't care."

A Scorpion stands nearby. She had been wandering the streets for some time, watching everything unfold.

"I applaud how clear you make things for them."

If she is applauding you, it's a very slow clap applause, but she seems genuine, if a bit disinterested.

Erina blinks a little and then offers a quick bow.

"Thank you Scorpion-san. I confess, I would prefer to make an argument on the merits, but I don't have the time nor the talent nor the temperament to do so. "Needs must when the oni snap at your heels"

She smiles an empty smile.

"Yes...thank you again Kiku-san." Erina offers another bow as a pensive expression comes over her face. She's heard stories of the Scorpion, even as the Clan had a history of being allies with Lion.

"How would you do it then Kiku-san? To get people to part with their draft animals for the survival of all?"

"I don't tend to ask when things are necessary." She gives a half shrug. "I see the merits in it, but why ask a question when there should only be one answer?"

"Well, we always have a choice...of course, that often means choosing death or dishonor, but its one we make."

Erina suddenly blinks, and tension seems to relieve her shoulders.

"Huh. I just..." She shakes her head for a moment. "Thank you Bayushi-san for your..." Erina snorts a little mostly to herself. "I think you helped me figure something out for myself. I do hope that I am not being rude, but I do need to continue preparing the convoy. As our guest, you should not burden yourself."

Erina turns, taking a few more looks over the shoulder as she continues attempting to separating people from their lifestock, hopefully acquiring a few horses along the way.

Who knows, maybe an battle ox-cart can become a thing
