The garrison, under Koushi's careful instructions, had erected a large tent housing several long tables. It would almost seem like a picnic, were it not for the area of surgical tools and grim-looking non-combatants dragooned into being orderlies.

Koushi stood near the center of the tent, waiting for the onslaught.

Dripping wet from the rain, a one-armed monk stood ready to help run supplies to those more proficient in the arts of healing.

His approach to the one who seemed to be leading so far was filled with the sound of water drops. he bows, a polite distance away in order to not spray him with an accidental water drop. "Doji-sama. This one is Kodama. I know the names and identity of most common herbs or medicines and can help locate or cleanse the items you need. I can also help connect the wounded with their inner self, helping to combat the wounds to their soul that leave them struggling to fight and give them some amount of renewed energy."

Miwako joined the other healers in waiting for the wounded to arrive. She offered respectful bows to the others.

Koushi, deeply grateful for the consideration shown by his concern for the rainfall and its impact on standard etiquette, returned his bow with the respect a devout man shows to monks.

"Brother, your skill and care will be a great help to our warriors. My name is Doji Koushi, a surgeon trained by the Kakita family, and I thank you for your assistance."

He bowed again for that extra bit of sincerity.

Koushi returned the bow with a bow of his own and a grateful smile, because we all know that the medicine skill isn't what it's cracked up to be; shugenjas are where it's at.

Another that showed up looked half like he should be on one of those tables, not helping the ones healing them.

"No, no *cough*, I'm fine. I've a few blessings of the kami I can call on to help. *cough* Well, a towel would be nice."

Kodama bows again, and again, and again. And then moves to get the Isawa a towel.

To Miwako on his way to get the towel. "Isawa-sama. Good to meet you again. Time for your heroics, yes?"

To Hachi, after giving him the towel. "Isawa-sama. An honor to see you again. You risk your health again, out in this rain. Surely your ancestors are proud."

Most of those in the tent were dripping wet, and Osamu in his Ashigaru armor was one of them. A bit away from the others, he pulled a scroll from his satchel and began to read from it.

He was almost spent after his own time in the battle after all, but with the help of the Kaminhe would be able to push at least a little farther and maybe save some lives.

That done be turned and bowed to the other healers, ready now to help where he could.

Chihaya helped carry the wounded Akodo in to the makeshift infirmary, pushing past the hurrying ashigaru and servants, to help lay the man's unconscious body down.

She was a sight, she was certain. She'd removed her kabuto, but her hair hung slick with rain and sweat, and she was caked liberally with gore, splatters of blood on almost every part of her body, though the cold rain had certainly lessened the amount, leaving her looking... not presentable by any means, but not, at least, like she had just survived a brutal melee.

Glancing around, she hoped to locate a healer who might help the man who was miraculously still breathing.

Indeed, Touki seemed to be just barely hanging onto life, eyes closed and senseless. He had a series of cuts, and one nasty stab wound.

His chest rose and fell a little, but he made no sound, nor any other motion.

57 wounds taken.

Miwako rushed to the man's side and prepared a scroll.

"Suzume-sama, I will see to him. Let the others tend to your wounds."

The monk went to get another pair of towels. One for the wounded Lion, one for the wounded Sparrow.

"Suzume-sama." She'd be offered a towel. And a breath. (Regain a void point)

He bows to the unconscious Lion. "Apologies Akodo-sama. I will try and get you dry." And begins carefully drying the man off while the healers get to work. He as well gets a breath, although it takes longer to help him. (Fail at the complex action; spend a void point to activate kiho anyways.) (Akodo Touki regains a void point.)

While Touki (obviously) does not say anything, his drawn expression perhaps grows a little more serene.

Miwako prayed over the wounded Lion, but her scroll slipped from her hands. It frustrated her, but she started again. This time, she placed her hand on him and a healing energy flowed through it. Slowly, his wounds mended. Within a few minutes, he would be completely healed.

First, Touki's breathing normalized. Color returned to his face. His eyes fluttered open, revealing his dark olive eyes. At first, they were bloodshot, but shortly, even that faded. Instead, there was a flicker of understanding.

Touki took a deep breath, his shoulders rising and falling. Without expression, he sat up, and then, moving stiffly, he bowed to Miwako. "Thank you, Isawa-sama." His lips parted, then pressed together again.

He glanced around, spotting his recent battle companion, bowing again. "And I believe I should thank you as well." His voice was a deep monotone, expressing little.

As the wounds healed under the prayers of the Isawa, Kodama left off toweling off the Akodo.

Who knows, maybe she wanted the water there.

He moved to deposit the used, likely bloody towel, and then came back with a cup of water for the recently nearly dead.

Bowing. "Akodo-sama, if you would like?" He offers up the cup.

As Miwako handles the Akodo, so Koushi moves to assist the Sparrow.

"Just this way, Suzume-sama," he says gently, leading her to sit at one of the large tables. Quickly and efficiently, he binds wounds (assuming there are any, of course) and stanches bloodflow in the finest tradition of the Kakita medical college, proving once and for all that the Kolat were wrong, and that the kami were very necessary indeed.

Touki grimaced awkwardly, but nodded. "Yes. Please. Thank you..." He narrowed his eyes, studing the man. "-monk-san."

After a sip of tea and a grimace, he relented, slightly. "This one is Akodo Touki."

The towel was accepted, and used to wipe her face and hair, leaving it tussled and unkempt, but at least less bloody.

Chihaya, for a moment, seemed ready to wave the Doji off, but then her experience outweighed her pride, and she let herself be bandaged. For all the gore, there was only a small cut under her left breast, and it was easily bound (4 wounds remaining).

It would likely soon vanish into the patchwork of scars that already crossed her pale skin, shockingly light where the sun did not touch it.

Once he had finished, she bowed her head, remarking quietly, "You have my thanks, Doji-san. You are a credit to your craft."

Then she returned, and nodded to Touki.

"I only wished to recover your body... but you seem to have been booted back to this realm by old Emma-O. He's done it to me a few times, so I know you can't be feeling very good right now."

With a wry grin, she added, "You fought so well those traitors didn't even bother attacking me, so desperate were they to stop you."

"I am Kodama, of the Order of the Fortune of Heroes. You lost a lot of blood. I've seen those types of wounds before. You'll be thirsty for awhile, unless the good Isawa-sama's kami have seen to that already."

He stepped away as the Suzume came over and talked; more interested in hearing the tale then interrupting two samurai.

Touki was wounded. Touki was a hero. And still, Setsuna could not let it go.

"Touki-sama!" Setsuna announced, "Do not think that your injuries will stop our legendary rivalry."

The Bayushi rubbed the back of their head. "Uh, good job, though. But spirits still only count as people!"
