At this time of the year, the streets of Toshi no Omoidoso are little more than wide, well-trampled paths in the snow. Booths selling warm soup, rice balls, and other snacks can be found all throughout the city, as can sake houses, geisha houses, and more minor shrines and temples than most samurai would have thought possible to cram into one city.

The streets are patrolled by Lion samurai and budoka, with the latter primarily tasked with resolving heimin and eta issues quickly and quietly. The samurai, for their part, seem to be troubled and deep in thought, which has left them less alert than one would otherwise expect.
