'' Clearly this is not like the Islands...'' Nagiko said to herself as she walked around the streets of the city/town. She was wearing clothes better suited to the sub-tropical climates of the Islands of Spice and Silk, not for this climate.

Nevertheless, she walked around with the grace of a cat, exploring this new place. She was carrying her wicker umbrella on her shoulder and, if not for her daisho in her obi, one certainly could mistake her for a Crane courtier, wearing a pink kimono. Or maybe she was a courtier...

Whatever was the case, this was a new place, and she really didn't have much out of an agenda in here. Except have fun.

Ren was a busy bee throughout all of the morning. Running around here and there trying to get things situated just right. There were so many wounded, sick, tired... that there was no stopping on the schedule.

She walked along the street back to a makeshift medic tent near one of the temples in the city and pulled out her implements of medicine to help patch up and restore the proper flow of spirits within the infirmed.

Every now and again, Nagiko would catch sight of a familiar looking cat keeping pace with her through the streets.

She then continued her way, sometimes catching a sight of what the cat was doing, she stopped by near the place where makeshift medic tents where raised.

She looked around, trying to see if there was anything interesting she could do to help. Though certainly she was no medic, so...

Nagiko bowed to the woman. '' Hmmm, not really. I was just walking around and just passed by here.'' She said politely.

'' This one's name is Nagiko, from the Mantis-clan.'' She bowed again.

a pause as she looked around.

'' This was caused by the rampaging spirits, i guess? '' She asked '' Maybe i could offer some help to you, mmmm, Lion-san. Though i'm afraid i'm not a medic...'' She shrugged.

“Nagiko-san, a pleasure. I am Akodo Ren. Can I have you wrap this for me? I have it started.” She motioned to an elderly heimin’s ankle wrap she was preparing.

“Tightly, as you would with a sail.” She offered the bandages edges over.

“I take it you are coming from Morikage?” She asked as she moved to the next person.

Watching intently from a safe distance away, a cat simply stares, tail twitching. It looks quite curious, but as if it can't quite deign to ask what's going on.

'' Uun...'' She shakes her head. '' I arrived to the mainland from my Clan islands some days ago, just arrived here to this city after been informed about what happened recently...''

'' So, i assume things got really ugly...'' She commented as she moved with Ren as she tended the injured people.

“A most interesting timing to arrive.” She replied in a tone that felt genuine.

“Apparently the Emperor was murdered... these are the people fleeing the city.” She said as she continued to work.

“What ‘officially’ brings you here?” She said officially as if she thought of it as the least important reason for the woman’s presence.

'' Well, i really don't have an official reason to be here, if i'm sincere, Akodo Ren-san'' The mantis shrugs. '' I heard of what was going on and came here to see if there was anything i could do here. If that pass a reason, then that's it.'' She told the truth.

'' Well, i do carry some gifts with me. Items from my home, though i don't know how i could serve my clan with them. I don't have any official duties as now'' Once again, the truth.

'' Well, kind of, Akodo Ren-san'' She replies with a nod. '' Some high quality silk and spices from our Islands.'' Nagiko said. She knew that some people become disturbed by talking about commerce, though this Lion does not seem to be disturbed by such topic.

'' Though like i said before, maybe they could serve better as gifts. Certainly your clan should be allowed a share of it, in appreciation for your treatment and because of being such graceful hosts.''

'' What about you, Akodo Ren-san? If i might ask, what brings you here? Please do not feel compelled to answer if you don't want to''

“I’m here on an assignment. Have been for a month or so... working on the transition to permanent Lion control of the city.” She replied.

“It’s a shame you won’t have more people interested in your wares... I wish it had been more peaceful times.”

'' Ah, right. I heard this city was once a settlement of the Phoenix clan or something like that.'' Really Nagiko was not very well versed in interclan politics except for her training as a courtier.

She takes a look at Asahime, noticing her expression. Nagiko imagined that she indeed had became bored. But this was the boring part of being a Ningen...

'' Well, i do expect that maybe more people from my clan will arrive here and they could have any idea of what to do with them, neh?'' She adds.

'' Have you ever visited the Islands of Spice and Silk, Akodo Ren-san?'' Nagiko asked politely.

She shook her head, “I’ve wandered around quite a bit, but still haven’t mastered the whole walking on water bit yet. I’ve read interesting things though!”

'' They are! '' Nagiko said with excitement. '' If you could imagine a forest, a lush forest, the islands are totally covered with them.'' She started

'' They have lots of strange plants and creatures. Some are dangerous, but if you know what you are doing the islands are very beautiful indeed.'' Nagiko adds.

'' I guess you could probably find some rare herbs that could be used in healing, though i'm not an expert on botanical matters'' She told Ren as she looked around the injured people.
