The temperature of his voice had ticked down noticeably, yet Crane manners were maintained.

"Hai..." Wasako said in slow realization and gave a quick dip of her head in ruffling the Crane's sentiments. "However, I suppose then the more pressing matter is the refugees as they found their way here. I haven't spoken to many samurai about the matter and I've heard that some of them had come from the same place."

The moment of irritation had passed and Rin returned to his usual self.

"Ah," she nodded slowly at that. "I guess you and I are probably more or less the same when it comes to our situation here. I've recently arrived just yesterday myself. I've only noticed a lot of people on the road and court was anything but pleasant when it came to the mood there."

She gave a small shrug with a smirk. "I must admit, it was my first time attending such a ceremony. I was initially told there wouldn't be such a thing here but it seems where there are people, there must be a court, me?"

"It has been a pleasant winter up until this day, Mirumoto-sama. I have not heard so many voices in the Court Halls than we did just an hour ago."

He half turned to keep the Lion youths in view now that the game of go had ended.

"Shimizu-sama's hosting has been exemplary. If there is trouble here then it arrived on today's winds."

Kayou returned her practice naginada to the weapons rack.

She pads over to look at the Go game, a little disappointed that it is already over.

"I'm sure it is," she nodded in agreement, although she didn't have any other standard to compare it to truthfully. "Especially, considering that he probably didn't foresee seeing this many guests in his honoured estates at once. That and the many refugees."

Figuring that that was probably enough about that. "...I take it that Kakita-san is well-versed in the courts both in and outside his lands?"

Wasako gave a tilt her head as to what he might have meant by his role. An artisan? Well, he was in a dojo and that must have meant he was a bushi most likely. The Kakita were famed in their technique. "It seems rather early to determine that, ne?"

She raised her brows at the nun and bowed politely to greet her. "Konnichiwa, Abbess-sama. We're not playing Go but you're welcome to join us." Just two samurai, who were not making use of the dojo at all.

Kayou bows. 'Domo, as you have noticed, this one is Kayou, Abbess of the Order of Harmonious Work. She is pleased to meet you."

"This one suspects the dojo will be well visited in the coming days as the clouds of war gather."

"This one is Mirumoto Wasako and," she shot a glance at the Kakita before continuing on, "And this one is Kakita Rin."

Truly, she might have introduced herself and others more in one day than she had previously done in a whole year.

She gave Kayou a slow nod. "...I suppose. I must confess that I've only recently arrived here and I've been trying to gather a better idea of what has happened here. Of course, the refugees make this more than obvious but I wonder if there is a bigger picture. Either way, it seems war is unavoidable. At the very least, a retaliation is due."

"This one fears there is more bloodshed on the way. We must prepare for the worst."

Once again they were sliding into topics the Crane would not discuss without proper testimony given. After bowing to the nun he had retreated to silence with his arms crossed, paying attention the conversation but most of his focus on the Lion youths training.

Wasako gave a nod at Kayou, "As a bushi, I would think that we constantly prepare ourselves for the worse. Often drawing a live sword is something that isn't done for ceremony or leisure. I must confess I'm curious to if there are developments sooner than later. I spoke to someone earlier in court and expects this might last for weeks."
