Chinatsu had been lax in her prayers in the last few days of hectic work. Now, with the Traitor's forces on their way, she felt it prudent to do what she could to help prepare the city for what was to come. This meant praying for victory in the battles to come.

Slipping into the shrine, Chinatsu slipped her wicker coat off her back, and hat off her head. They had done their job and mostly kept the rain from soaking her, but a few drops had gotten through. Setting the drenched apparel aside to at least dry a little while she was busy, she stepped into the shrine proper and began to go through the motions of prayer to the Fortunes.

Least they could do is have a brothel in this town.

Osamu decided not to comment on that to his ancestor as he stepped into the Shrine of Remembrance, the Spirit had grown bored of this place months ago and while OSamu did what he could to placate him. Some days there really wasn't much he could do. It was a few hours too early to visit a sake house after all, and he and his grandfather both had never been to fond of geisha. Placing his umbrella down inside the entrance, he shed the wicker coat he had been wearing and placed it on the rack for such things before taking off his sandals and stepping inside.

It didn't take him long to determine he wasn't alone, the other coat at the door had been a dead give away if nothing else. He didn't move to disturb the young woman in prayer though, instead offering her a polite bow before moving to offer his own words to the fortunes.

Chinatsu glanced to the man as he entered, but as she was in the middle of her devotions, she did not respond. It took time for the Matsu to finish her prayers, but once she had she slowly got to her feet once more and moved to one side, not yet prepared to return to the downpour outside.

Osamu rose from his own prayers a few moments later, turning his eyes towards the Matsu that was still lingering in the Shrine. "It seems the weather has no interest in letting up any time soon." He mused as he tipped his head slightly to the side, as if to better listen to the rain beating down on the structure.

Chinatsu nodded. "Probably won't. We'll fight in the rain." She paused then, not knowing well enough who would get the advantage from that, probably the attacker though. She glanced back at the Mantis.

"I am Matsu Chinatsu." She said, offering a bow to the man.

"It wont make things easier on us, but if they don't have any Shugenja we might still have the advantage." The water after all were quite stirred up.

He returned the bow, politely. "Osamu of the Mantis, and it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance Matsu-sama."

I am surrounded by Mantis and Tortoise it feels like. What did I do to deserve this? "I've heard that yesterday's snow storm was unnatural, Osamu-san, that would suggest the enemy may not be bereft of shugenja after all. I've more hope in the blocking of the pass to give us the time we need to keep the enemy at bay. Every day matters."

"The intend to block the passes?" He had avoided court the last few days so hadn't heard, it did mean their situation was rather dire though. Perhaps he should of left after all. "I hadn't heard that much, though I suppose that means the Army out there is larger then I suspected. "

"I suppose I should of suspected they may have shugenja then. Probably more then we do, not that I think of it."

"Or the enemy is moving too quickly. One hundred troops will win against 10,000 if the 10,000 are not on the field." Chinatsu gave an alternative.

She shrugged some on the issue of shugenja. "There is nothing confirmed either way, although." She paused at that and frowned deeply. "If there is a Shugenja working for the enemy, they are very far in advance of the army, or they have infiltrated the city."

The lion waa likely much more an expert on this then he, so he merely nodded. "That does seem likely, though I am curious how this weather might effect us."

"And do you think it will clear when the enemy arrives?"

Chinatsu considered that for a moment. "If the stories I have heard are anything to go by, there will be no doubt of the enemy's approach." But still, she shrugged. "That all depends upon how clever our enemy is."

Chinatsu let out a sigh, there was so much she didn't yet know.

"That is the question isn't it." Osamu offered with a small sigh. "If he sent summon here to play havoc with the weather though, I suppose that means he at least plans ahead."

"But I suppose there is little point in speculating."
